I’m generally off Friday through Sunday, although that can vary, which makes Rover great, because my schedule does change sometimes. I generally have a two night minimum but have made exceptions.

For in my home care, I have a fenced in yard (6’ all around other than across the driveway, where it is 4’), no other pets in the home, and no children. I would love to care for a dog that enjoys going on walks or hikes and spending some time outside. If they like car rides that’s great also! But if they aren’t into that sort of thing, totally fine! I have plenty experience administering meditations.

Information Sherry Z. would like to know about your pet
Although I love having a dog join me in a walk or exploring a new area, I don’t have to have one with me, so if you have a dog that would rather just relax at home, that’s fine too! I miss that company and companionship. I always want to know how they are on a leash, in the car (if allowed), any diet restrictions, how they are with other dogs (in case we would see one on a walk), how they are with people, if they can do stairs or not, any separation anxiety issues, fear of thunderstorms, things like that. I probably ask too many questions:)!
A typical day
I have a nice big fenced in yard so if your dog likes playing fetch, there’s plenty of room for that! There are also plenty of things to sniff (and oftentimes chase). My dogs had always been on squirrel patrol! Some of my favorite walking/hiking areas are Lime Kiln park and the parkway in that area, Menomonee park, Mequon Nature Preserve, and Glacier Hills park

25+ years vet clinic experience!
Pet care experience
I’ve worked at a small animal hospital in the Northshore for over 25 years and have had dogs my whole adult life. I lost my most recent Doberman a several years ago and miss him every day! Due to my long work hours (generally Monday through Thursday) I’m unable to bring another dog into my life right now, and although I get my animal fix at work:), it’s not the same as having one that I can take on walks or hikes or have at home with me while out doing yard work or enjoying the weather, snuggling while watching TV or reading a book, and all the things that anyone has ever had a dog knows:)! I have watched friends’ and family members dogs for years, as well as some of our clients from my work. My dogs went everywhere with me and were such a big part of my life, and I definitely miss that companionship, kisses and snuggling:)
Reviews

Sherry was amazing watching my dog Mel! She was super communicative and sent lots of updates and photos about what they were up to. This was the first time I used Rover to find someone to watch my dog because it's hard for me to trust someone to care for Mel that way I do, but I would definitely trust Sherry with Mel again.

Sherry was so fantastic!! She took such great care of our girl Mona for the weekend, and provided lots of photos and updates. :) we would absolutely book with her again.

Finley always has a wonderful time with Sherry!

Sherry was very accommodating and attentive to our girl as she wasn’t feeling her best. She communicated with us throughout her stay. She played with and walked our girl. I would definitely recommend Sherry.
