Treating Every Pet Like My Own!
I’ve been caring for animals for most of my life and genuinely love getting to know pets of all personalities, ages, and energy levels. I had my own dog, Boo, for 12 years and was responsible for her daily care, routines, and companionship throughout her life. Currently, I help with my roommate’s dog, Mavi, and have helped care for her for the past 3 years. I help make sure she is fed, walked, has fresh water, and of course gets plenty of cuddles and belly rubs. I’ve also pet sat for friends several times and have experience caring for dogs of different ages and temperaments. In high school, I regularly house sat and cared for animals for a family friend with a farm. Along with caring for their dogs and cats, I also helped look after their horses and goats. I understand how important it is for pets to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away, and I always try to provide calm, attentive, and reliable care.

When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine and creating a calm, safe, and comfortable environment. I understand that pets can feel stressed when their owners are away, so I try to provide consistency, patience, and plenty of attention to help them feel secure. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, house rules, and any special care needs. I also make sure pets always have fresh water, regular potty breaks, exercise, affection, and supervision appropriate for their needs and personality. I believe communication and trust are very important, so I’m happy to provide updates and photos to help owners feel reassured while they’re away. My goal is always to make pets feel cared for, comfortable, and loved in their own environment.

Sherie is amazing with our 2 dogs. My anxious rescue mutt in particular can be difficult. He normally hates everyone and retreats to his crate with his hackles up, refusing to come out even to eat or potty when we’re away but somehow Sherie won him over and FAST. Like, before our flight landed I received a photo of him curled up on her lap asleep. He never does that with anyone but me! When we get home from being away they're relaxed and happy like we were just gone at work. Sherie is patient, calm, trustworthy, and clearly has a gift with dogs. Cannot recommend her more highly!

Schedule
I currently work full time Monday through Friday from 8am–5pm, but I’m available to care for pets before and after work, during my lunch break, and much more flexibly on weekends. I’m committed to making sure pets stay on their normal routines and get the attention, care, and companionship they need while their owners are away. At this time, I plan to provide care in the client’s home, where pets are often most comfortable in their familiar environment. Since I currently rent, I’m limited on additional animals in my home, but I’m happy to provide reliable in-home visits, walks, drop-ins, and house sitting care.
