Former dog mom; forever dog lover
We are a family of 4 that lost our dog of 14 years in April 2026 seeking opportunities to fill our dog void with loving on yours. We have a 6 year old daughter and 8 year old son that both love dogs and were raised with dog etiquette. We prefer small, non shedding dogs but are open to others upon confirming it’s a good fit. I recently quit my corporate marketing job after 12+ years, my husband works from home, and we have a fenced in yard for easy and frequent breaks. Translation: Your dog would get ample love and attention in our home. It shows I’m not available on weekends but can make exceptions here and there if you’re needing care through the weekend so please ask before assuming I’m not the best fit. I do require meet and greets prior to each in-home overnight stay, which is why I request a 48 hour notice ahead of a booking. Again, I’m flexible but just want to make sure this is a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you, me and your dog.

Shelly was amazing! This was my first time using Rover and also the first time leaving my dog with strangers. Shelly is extremely flexible and responsive regarding details. I would receive updates of Rex daily either pictures or details texts of how he was doing! He loved playing with her dog Walter too :). Great experience!

I think our pup's found his second home! Shelly was our first pup-sitter through Rover and we'll definitely be back. Shelly was kind and sweet towards our pup from the meet and greet all the way through the pick-up. It was clear she has a lot experience and was able to immediately establish a wonderful rapport with our pup. Through out his stay she sent pictures of our pup and Walter playing and hanging out together. It helped us enjoy our own trip even more knowing our pup was in good hands and to be able to have such wonderful communication back and forth. We highly recommend Shelly!
Shelly was awesome, she seems to really love dogs. She sent me many picture updates while 3 of my dogs were staying with her for a week. I knew my dogs were well taken care of and had a great time playing with her dog Walter. I would highly recommend her and would definitely use her again! Thanks!
Chester had a great time with Shelly and Walter. He's used to having someone at home with him during the day, so we're so happy to have found Shelly and Walter!

Schedule
We pickup kids from elementary school at 8 am and 3 pm daily but otherwise spend the day at home. I don’t work but my husband does. Therefore, I’m highly attentive to adapt to the dogs needs throughout the day.

Safety, trust & environment
We spend the day at home, available for indoor play, outdoor walks and frequent bathroom breaks. We do have tiled floors throughout our first floor, wood stairs, and carpet upstairs. Frequent ear scratches, belly rubs and snuggles are available upon the dogs request :-)
A typical day
Weather permitting, you can expect a daily walk; 2 if needed or wanted by the dog. Based on the dogs desire/need, each walk would likely be between 15-45 minutes. Should the dog be well groomed and not shed, we allow him/her to sleep in bed with us. Otherwise, we welcome them to sleep on the floor in our room. We welcome a t-shirt of yours and/or their dog bed/crate they’re accustomed to so they can sleep most comfortably in their new environment. Aside from all that love, interior mini-fetch and tug-of-war seem to be fan favorites. We have plenty of toys here to share, but recommend you bring a blanket, a toy, food, and food bowls for their stay.

- We require you to make us aware of any medications your dog may be on and what the side affects may be. We also like to know what your dog does NOT like. For instance, my dog is not a huge fan of children. He will not attack, but he is scared of them. Children, vacuums, hair dryers, fireworks etc. My best friend's dog didn't like roller blades and almost attacked someone on a walk one day. He is an incredibly well disciplined dog, but that detail would have been really good to know ahead of time :-)
