Hi pet parents! I'm Shelly, and I've been an animal lover and pet parent for almost 20 years. Throughout my life I have had the joy of caring for pets across their lifespans, from wrangling boisterous kittens to administering prescribed medication to older pups. I understand the profound bond between pets and their owners, and I'm here to cater to your pet's individual needs- whether it's an adventurous hike, a leisurely walk, fun play session, or simply some cozy snuggle time on the couch. Shelly was a wonderful sitter for my pup, Smudge. He has some specific needs—he’s reactive and has separation anxiety—and Shelly was incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and accommodating throughout. I really appreciated the daily check-ins and updates, which gave me peace of mind while I was away. It was clear that Smudge was in great hands and well cared for. I would absolutely recommend Shelly as both a dog and house sitter!

Programa
I currently only work part-time which means I am around a lot to love on and spend time with your pet(s)! When I am away from home it's never more than a few hours, and with advanced notice my schedule is very flexible.

I live in a spacious 660sqft 1-bedroom apartment centrally-located walking distance from several parks and dog-friendly businesses. I currently can only host small and medium-sized dogs in my home but I'm available for travel sitting if you prefer I stay in your home. I'm a fabulous house-sitter that believes in the philosophy of leaving things better than you found them. During extended in-home stays I can pick up mail, water plants, and sweep the floors + counters before you return.

I love to be a consistent person in the day of a pet, and with dogs that means always being available for outside time- either a longer walk to explore the parks nearby or shorter potty breaks for lower-energy dogs. I am here for all dog vibes and love to settle alongside a couch potato who might prefer naps + belly rubs. I believe that cats need our presence, so I take the time to be around for hangout time by reading or doing a crossword puzzle on the couch. I'm a keen interpreter of cat behavior and am ready to provide stimulating time chasing treats or hunting toys during high-energy moments, but I also know to provide space and let cats have their space + independence when they need it.
