Cat Sitter in Leidschendam
I am Shelley - I teach English online and also volunteer as a social media manager for a cat rescue organization (where I adopted my cat!) My cat is about 7 years old. I also have a bird (the cats and birds are kept separate, of course. The bird has his own palace). I have been petsitting since I was a child and have owned/taken care of many animals (cats, dogs, birds, rodents, fish), so I understand their behavior and habits, both good and bad. My experience includes befriending sassy cats and making shy cats more comfortable by giving them the time they need to get used to a person and know they are safe around me. In my 20s, I was a petsitter in the USA and also housesat in Europe for two years. Now I am petsitting again and it is so much fun! I would love to hang out with your pets, too :)

Safety, trust & environment
First, I go to your home and take care of the pets' immediate needs (food, water, litter box). I will check to see if there have been any accidents since the last visit, such as vomiting or using the toilet outside the litter box. If any odd behavior occurs, I will let you know immediately. I will also water plants if necessary, and clean your pets' bowls. After that, I try to play with your pets. If they don't want to play, I respect their decision :) Safety and security: * When I leave the house, I make sure that the door is fully closed and your key is secured on my person. Back at my home, I put your key in a safe location. I do not carry your house key with me to do other tasks like grocery shopping. * Furthermore, I prefer to give your key back AFTER you return home just in case there are issues in your journey home, such as a delayed flight or canceled train. * On hot days I will take precautions to keep your home as cool as possible. I will leave extra water out for the pets and follow the instructions you provide for house cooling. Of course we can discuss this further at our meeting :)

Shelley was great with our cats! We came back to 2 happy, well fed and played with cats. She also updated us every day with the cutest cat videos. Definitely would book again!

Schedule
I work part time and my availability is very flexible. Typically I am most available in the mornings and evenings. Afternoon availability depends on my teaching schedule. Feel free to message with any questions!
