Caring Animal Lover Looking to Help

I'm was professional pet trainer at a major retail chain. I've lived with a dog, cat, chinchilla, hamster, bird, or fish most of my life. I love fur babies and want help people when they need to be away from their beloved pets. Most recently, I helped sit a household with four elderly dogs with various medical needs. I have experience giving medications to dogs, as well as dogs with disabilities like blindness and deafness. Ideally with pet sitting, my wife and I would meet the dogs and/or cats before we pet sit to learn their specific needs, and learn where the food and treats hide. Depending on the pets and the weather, we like long hikes/walks and short trips around the neighborhood. You actually receive two pet sitters with me. My spouse will be home most of the time while I'm at work. I'm also a certified pet sitter with Pet Sitters International.

Safety, trust & environment

I like to learn the current routine of your beloved pet(s) and try to keep their routine for their comfort. I make sure I learn your house rules and will not let those puppy dog eyes persuade me to let them on the couch unless you say it is ok. I have my Pet First Aid Course and am taking other courses to increase my Pet Safety knowledge.

Left our cats to Shelley for a week and they love her! Shelley took good care of them and regularly gave us updates on how they were doing. She communicated inadvance if there were schedule adjustments. She was there with the cats the whole time which gave us peace of mind while we were away. I recommend her service. We will sure to be return customers.

Shelley is the most passionate person about dogs I've ever met. Her natural ability to connect with dogs and her drive to learn more about them is a powerful combination. Shelley was able to tame one of our oldest clients' dogs, a chihuahua, a breed known for being stubborn and temperament issues. Shelley also has experience working with dogs with special needs, including those requiring regular medication, as well as senior, blind, and deaf dogs. I may help Shelley take care of dogs, but she'll always be the expert.

Shelley is the sweetest, most caring person you could ever wish to care for your fur babies. She has known my dogs since they were pups and there is no one I’d rather trust to care for them than Shelley. She is so attentive and loving, and the doggos absolutely adore her. She’s experienced in dogs with medical needs, as well. You will be hard pressed to find a better cater for your dogs.

It is important for me to know who your dog is and what they like and dislike. I am okay with a scared barking dog; I am patient and can wait for them to accept me. I have a Chihuahua friend that it took several stays before he was truly comfortable around me from the minute I walked in the the door. It just took patience, now he comes to me even when his best owner friend is home, not normal. Also, I need to know their schedule, what time they eat, where they sleep, your rules (couch or no couch), is there a bed time?
