I’m currently semi-retired and have a flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to give your pup attention, playtime, and care. I’m available for boarding most weekends and weekdays with flexible hours, ensuring your dog gets the care and companionship they need. Whether it’s daily walks, cuddle sessions, or structured play, I prioritize making each pup feel safe, happy, and loved.

Safety, trust & environment
I take dog safety and comfort seriously and have set up my home to be welcoming for both puppies and senior dogs. My apartment has a doggie door leading to a secure, enclosed patio within a private inner courtyard, offering a safe space for fresh air and quick potty breaks. For added convenience, I have a potty grass mat outside, though regular outdoor walks are always part of the routine. To give dog parents extra peace of mind, I will attach a GPS tracker (Whistle) to your dog and monitor it through an app, reducing any risks of unexpected situations. After experiencing the stress of my own dog being lost in San Francisco by a walker, I am hyper-aware of safety and take extra precautions to ensure every pup stays secure. Additionally, I provide a cozy setup with toys, clean blankets, and other comforts to keep dogs feeling at home. Whether your pup is playful or prefers a relaxed environment, I strive to make their stay safe, happy, and stress-free.

Information Shelley C. would like to know about your pet
Before sitting your dog, I’d love to know about their temperament, routine, and any special needs they may have. The more we communicate upfront, the better I can tailor my care to their individual needs. While I’m open to all dogs, I prefer those who aren’t constant barkers since my husband works from home. That said, normal barking is completely fine! - I have previously been certified in dog CPR, but it was several years go. - I have experience caring for blind and deaf dogs. - I can administer subcutaneous medication if needed. Your dog’s safety is my top priority. I will rely on the detailed emergency information you provide, including your vet, emergency vet, and a trusted family member or friend. Please ensure this information is up to date so I can act quickly if needed. Clear communication is key, and I’ll always keep you informed about your dog’s well-being during their stay with me. I typically run errands on foot, but I have a car for trips outside my area. If your dog enjoys car rides, I’d love to bring them along for a little adventure and enrichment! However, if you’d prefer they stay home, just let me know—I’m happy to adjust based on your preference. Please also let me know if your dog is comfortable staying home alone on occasion or if they experience separation anxiety, as this will help me plan accordingly. If you have two dogs from the same household, I can accommodate them as well. I strive to create a comfortable, safe, and engaging experience for every dog I care for. Social Media: I have an instagram account @ciaodogsitter and I would love to post pics of your pup and tag them. However, if that is NOT okay, please let me know!
A typical day
A typical day with me starts with a nice morning walk so your pup can get fresh air and stretch their legs. Throughout the day, I provide mental and physical stimulation based on their needs—whether it’s interactive play with toys, a structured game of fetch in a nearby enclosed park, or simply relaxing together. If they enjoy exploring, we’ll take an extra afternoon or evening stroll to break up the day. I prioritize each dog's comfort and routine while ensuring they get exercise, attention, and lots of love.

🐶 Experienced & Loving Dog Care!
Pet care experience
I’ve been surrounded by animals my whole life, growing up with both dogs and cats, but for 17.5 years, I was a devoted dog mom until my beloved senior pup passed away in 2025. Caring for dogs isn’t just something I do—it’s a big part of my life. Beyond my personal experience, I’m the lead volunteer at Rincon Hill Dog Park, where I help support a safe and welcoming space for dogs and their owners. I also foster senior dogs through Muttville, giving them the love and care they deserve in their golden years. With experience in administering medications (including subcutaneous injections) and providing a warm, structured environment, I make sure every pup feels at home. I’d love to welcome your dog into my care and treat them like family! 🐾💙
Reviews

Shelley was an outstanding sitter for my pup Cora. I was so impressed by her thoughtfulness and care for Cora, and I had every confidence in leaving my pup with her for over a week while I would be out of contact. Cora was so relaxed and at ease when I picked her up. I am very grateful to Shelley for her loving my girl so well! Would absolutely recommend her.

Shelley is the absolute best! From the well organized meet and greet before our first stay and the Polly care sheet she made to check she had all of the details, to the photos and videos throughout the stay, to the well timed pick up, this was a very well organized visit. I’d highly recommend Shelley to anyone, she is so focused on making sure the dogs are comfortable and happy. I’m so grateful for the attention she and her husband gave Polly over the past three days and look forward to Polly getting to spend time with them again in the future!

Shelley took great care of my senior dog Winston and kept me updated of his stay. She’s so easy to communicate with and super friendly! Her home is nice and clean with everything doggies need for a vacation away from home. Thank you so much! Will definitely ask you to help with Winston again, lucky to have you taking care of my old pal! ❤️❤️❤️

Found a dog whisperer and can’t be more appreciative of her diligence, care, and love for my dog!
