I am a non federal employee but work for federal grant funded non profit, so I am looking to take on a few clients to supplement my income. I am new to Saint Louis as of April this year and primarily work from home most days with some travel required for in person partner meetings and events, but I generally get to set my schedule which provides a lot of flexibility to work around you and your pets needs. Previously lived and worked for a few long term clients in Chicago and Ann Arbor, which is where most of my prior client reviews are from. Now that I am settled into my home here in Saint louis I am looking to take on a few clients.

I highly value treating your pet like one of my own, giving it the best care possible, which requires a meet and greet prior to initial bookings and allows for us to go over care expectations and general routines that are established with your pets. Additionally, I value each and every client’s privacy when it comes to the services I provide, only occupying necessary spaces when needed and ensuring I leave your space the same if not better than when I arrived. This is also something I like to discuss when conducting meet and greets, to ensure you feel comfortable all around when it pertains to any service provided. I do my best to send a ton of pictures, videos and updates daily to keep you in the know of what we are up to while you’re away and for some of those longer stays I try to keep them fun and goofy. I currently don’t offer boarding services due to apartment restrictions.

No breed preferences, but it’s always important for me to know your dogs behavior around other animals, children, and how they react to being in new places. I prefer to keep pets feeling safe and comfortable, but this requires open communication with me about your pet. If your pet has a fear of other dogs and exhibits reactive behaviors, it will not prevent me from helping you, but knowing all information about your pets helps to keep your pets and other pets safe and happy.
A typical day
A typical day for me really depends on your pets! I approach each client differently depending on familiarity, age, breed, and overall goals and expectations. I do try to make the most of every minute with your pup. I’ve had anxious pups that hide under the couch and the best I can do is sit and talk/sing until they work up the courage and trust to take a trip outside to go potty, sometimes we take a quick trip outside and then spend the rest of time time playing inside. Other client relationships allow me to take pups to local dog parks, and then we have pups that are stoked to take a walk around the neighborhood or play in the backyard.

Pet care experience
I grew up in a split family and over the last 20 years or so I've spent a lot of time playing, caring for and loving all kind of pets from horses, pigs, chickens, rabbits to dogs, cats, fish and guinea pigs! I'm familiar with working with puppies, dogs with anxiety and I enjoy helping owners to train their pups when spending time with them throughout the week by ensuring I use the same commands and techniques as they learn at home. The majority of my past long term clients are pups that prefer to keep their distance from other doggos or need a little extra time and care to build a trusting relationship, and this is what influences the higher rates that I have set. I truly believe in getting to know each pup and all their quirks, and working with them so they can get out and explore too. I like to run and always enjoy having a running buddy for some friendly competition or if your pup isn’t up for a run a good leisurely stroll around the neighborhood will do just fine. Unfortunately, my apartment is not fit for boarding, but I do offer sitting services that take place in your home and have found this is usually the best option for aging and anxious pup or large families with multiple pets!

Sheldon was wonderful with our little dog. She was able to accept a last minute request and stay beyond the scheduled time when our event ran over. I would absolutely request her again! We are more than pleased and our doggie loved her!!
Sheldin is always great with my cat Sheri. She has done a couple visits for us and I couldn’t be happier! So glad I found her to take care of my baby!
Sheldin was very responsive and took great care of our cats. They are very active and she went above and beyond, taking extra time to play with them while we were away. We will definitely keep Sheldin in mind for future travel!
