Sped teacher who loves animals!
Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up around animals and currently have experience caring for dogs with a variety of personalities and energy levels. One of my favorite experiences was training my own dog through the AKC program, from STAR Puppy all the way to AKC Community Canine, along with teaching several tricks and reinforcing good manners. I enjoy walks, playtime, enrichment activities, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for while their owners are away. Friends and family know me as someone who is responsible, patient, and genuinely loves animals.

Shelby was a great dog walker. She communicated well, left notes in Rover, took lots of pictures, and was mindful of the concerns about my dog that I shared before they left. I really appreciate her support and will book again!
Shelby is wonderful with animals. She's good at training and she's very responsible. My dogs absolutely love her. She's definitely a animal lover and works great with all breeds and sizes.

Schedule
As a teacher, I have a flexible schedule during school breaks and summers, allowing me plenty of time to give pets the attention they deserve. During the school year, I am available before and after work, on weekends, and for drop-in visits. I enjoy staying active and love incorporating walks, playtime, enrichment activities, and companionship into my routine. I understand the importance of consistency and will always do my best to maintain your pet’s normal schedule and routine.

Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, and specific needs so I can provide care that feels familiar and stress-free. I am comfortable following detailed feeding, medication, exercise, and training instructions. Having trained my own dog through the AKC STAR Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, and AKC Community Canine programs, I understand the importance of consistency, positive reinforcement, and safe handling practices. As a special education teacher, I am dependable, patient, attentive to details, and experienced in building trust while maintaining structure and routines.

A typical day
Every pet is different, so I tailor activities to their age, energy level, and personality. We might go for walks, play fetch, work on basic commands, enjoy enrichment activities, or simply spend quality time together. I believe mental stimulation is just as important as physical exercise, so I love incorporating games, training, and positive interactions throughout the day. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, engaged, and loved while you’re away.
