At home we have a very large yard and live close to 2 amazing parks (Lake Lenexa and Shawnee Mission Park, which has a great dog park). My father works from home so there is always someone at home to take care of and watch pets the times of day I find myself out of the house.

Every dog is different and it is important to observe to see why they behave the way they do, what they most enjoy and I would always research about their breed to learn more about that specific type of dog. Love and attention are always what dogs need most! Responsibility and constant attention and love is the most important thing when it comes to owning a dog.
A typical day
Fetch, going to the dog park (at Shawnee Mission Park), walks at Lake Lenexa, nice drives, training and playtime are some of my favorite activities with dogs!

Pet care experience
I love dogs and we recently lost our family dog (Pedro) that we were blessed to consider part of the family since I was little. Pedro was my personal dog and loyal protector and we miss him very much. I live in Lenexa, KS (my hometown) during the summers, and the rest of the year I live abroad in Portugal as a professional soccer player. Not being able to have animals of my own makes me really miss having a dog of my own and being around animals. I am looking to dogsit or dogwalk as much as possible this summer in the KC area, and have experience taking care of and training my own dogs, as well as dogsitting and dogwalking dogs of various ages and breeds. I am responsible, organized and hardworking. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with me for any dogcare needs you may have! :)

She’s great and took wonderful care of my super spoiled small poodle.
Our pets love Shelby!!! She stayed at our house for a week and took great care of it, and our two dogs and cat! She took the dogs on daily walks, and let the cat “groom” her hair ?. The temps were in the 100s while we were gone, and the electricity went out twice in our neighborhood - She took the pups to our basement where it was cooler, to keep them from overheating. Whew! She also collected our mail and put out the trash too, which was nice! We got lots of photos, videos and daily reports. We loved using Shelby and highly recommend her!
Shelby has cared for our pets and does so with love and affection. She is VERY responsible and goes the extra mile to make sure the pets in her care are happy.
