Doggy Day Care • janv. 06, 2026

Shelby was an incredibly intuitive person. Cool, calm and ready to take the best care of my puppy, Hobbes. She may be the first of many pet sitters to actually display a true love for dogs...and animals in general. It showed in her environment and also in her personality. Your puppy is safe and happy. LOL....and TIRED when they get home. I think I may have seen a smile on Hobbes's face!

Shelby is an excellent communicator, attention to detail on care, and Walter loved staying at her house over the Thanksgiving holiday!

I first met Shelby when I inquired about adopting a dog from the Rescue Shelter where she worked. Luna was a 70 pound older mixed Labrador with the inherent hip issues and limited 'social skills'. I came to find out that she had been in the Shelter for over a year. Shelby was her primary handler and she qualified me for adoption consideration. Shelby seemed very protective of 'Luna' and allowed me to take her for a walk, sit with her in a monitored room and ultimately take her home for a weekend visit. Shelby came by the house to see where Luna may find her forever home and felt comfortable with the environment. Now over three years later Luna is a teenager and we've stayed in touch with Shelby mostly through K9 resorts where Luna rooms when I travel. Shelby sends me photos and videos of her visits when at K9. Luna's temperament issues have subsided immensely over these years and has befriended her roommate dog an 11 pound rescue mixed Dachshund. Shelby is a true dog lover with overwhelming compassion for 'mans best friend'; a quality that makes her perfect for caring for dogs of all shapes and sizes and temperaments.

Shelby is one of the most compassionate person I have ever met. Her love of animals is huge and she goes above and beyond to help make their lives better and easier. I have trusted her with my disabled dog, Fred, on many occasions and he returns home happier and even more full of life and love than when I dropped him off into Shelby’s loving care. I could not think of a better person to become a part of Rover.com! You will be extremely thrilled to make this amazing woman part of your organization.

I had volunteered at an animal rescue for a number of years while Shelby was a kennel manager. And I feel she has qualities that are essential for a person working and caring for pets such as her empathy and passion for dogs with a variety of issues such as anxiety, physical disabilities, and different temperament etc., rarely have I seen that level of care and compassion. Each and every dog was provided a clean safe environment and medical needs and special diets, so when it came time for someone to watch our two dogs when we were away, it was an easy decision!.She watched our dogs on numerous occasions and each and every time she sent us beautiful pictures and videos. The the way she cared for them. It was like the second home for them, because we felt so at ease, it allowed us to better enjoy our time away

Shelby is an absolute angel who has basically taken a very big role in raising my two cavalier King Charles spaniel babies since they were 4 months old, both now six year old brother and sister Sophie and Charley. I am a surgeon and have a busy, demanding job, often times running late and Shelby came to the rescue, truly like an angel. I always wanted to make sure that someone was there with them at all times, getting them plenty of exercise, love, hugs and kisses. You wouldn’t believe the excitement in Sophie and Charlie‘s eyes when they would first see her on Monday morning bright and early! They absolutely left out of the car to go and see her beautiful face! Seeing the love, admiration, excitement in their eyes made me know that I had truly found someone irreplaceable. Shelby even planned weekly outings to different parks and “field trips” so the babies were always excited to see her for their next adventure. Shelby was flexible treating my babies like they were her own. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Words do not do justice for her expert and loving care. Look no further for your canine needs, you just hit the jackpot with Shelby. Truly grateful to God for this amazing human. We love you Shelby ! ❤️❤️❤️

Pets

A typical day

Every pup is unique so our day together is built around what makes YOUR dog happiest. We’ll start with a walk tailored to their needs whether that’s a brisk neighborhood stroll, a scenic nature path, or a slow, sniff filled adventure to stretch their legs and engage their senses. After our walk, we’ll dive into their favorite activities. For some dogs, that might mean a trip to the dog park. For others, if could be a pup cup treat, a joy filled car ride, or a fun outing to PerSmart to pick out a new toy. If your pup enjoys brain games, we can work on puzzles and enrichment activities to keep their minds sharp and satisfied! In between, there will be plenty of cuddles, belly rubs, and downtime for rest. My goal is to make sure every dog feels safe, loved, and fulfilled while you’re away because their happiness and comfort come first!

Every dog is different, and I want to make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. Please let me know ahead of time of any special needs like medical conditions, medication, dietary restrictions, or mobility issues. Any behavior notes like is they are shy, anxious, energetic, or reactive to certain triggers (like other dogs, cats, strangers). Any preferences and routines like their favorite toys, walking pace, feeding schedule, or comfort items and/or daily routines that help them feel at home. If your dog has any special needs, or behaviors don’t worry I can handle them! The more I know, the better I can tailor our time together so your dog feels loved and you feel confident while you’re away.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
