Pet care experience
I’ve had several pets and worked with livestock over the years. Pepper was our family pet, a Border Collie I trained as a puppy. I cared for Murdoc, a 50lb German Shepherd mix, into his senior years. In 2017, I rescued Circe, a pint-sized black cat, and in 2021, Joey my sweet beagle boy. I feel like I’ve done it all: thorns in the paw, administering meds, emergencies, play time, treat time, training, long walks, car rides, cleaning messes, and more!
Reviews
Shelbie does a great job! Keeps me informed and sends pictures which are much appreciated.
Great stay, good communication, appreciate Shelbie’s help!
Shelbie was a last minute booking and came through like a champ. She was good with my dog and even sent periodic photos of my dog at play to sure me that my dog was well taken care of.
Shelbie always does a great job taking care of my pets.

Safety, trust & environment
I am attentive to details, so when a new furry friend comes over, I keep a close watch on how they're adjusting to their new temporary environment. I'm excellent at picking up on even the smallest signs they give off and base my care accordingly to ensure they're feeling comfy right from the start. I have advanced education in communication so I strive to be transparent about what is going on with your pet. Whether they need lots of cuddles or some space to chill, I'll do whatever it takes to make them feel safe and happy during their stay. Every pet has their quirk and I make it my mission to figure out what they like best when we hang out.

Information Shelbie B. would like to know about your pet
Before committing to watching your dog, a meet and greet is necessary to ensure your dog gets along with Joey. While Joey is always friendly, he is a senior dog and can get overwhelmed by high-energy and anxious dogs. I’d like to know upfront about your pet's general needs, medical conditions, separation anxiety, food restrictions, behavioral concerns, etc.
A typical day
We like to take a daily 30+ minute walk on one of the many trails nearby. Daily treats (in moderation), playtime when activated, and lots of relaxing time including cuddle sessions. I live in a house with lots of room to roam, a fenced-in backyard, and comfy spots for your pup to sleep on. We live in a quiet neighborhood with a trail connected to our property, plus parks nearby for walking and outdoor playtime. Joey and Circe are friendly with other animals and would love the extra company!
