I’m currently a stay at home mom and although our kids have school and activities, I’m able to check on cats locally in between my family commitments.

Safety, trust & environment
I am very responsible and respectful of people’s homes and personal spaces. My job is to check on their pets and tend to their needs in the time I visit my client’s homes.
Information Sheila T. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your cats or dogs have any special needs that I should be prepared for. If your dog has any behavioral idiosyncrasies in seeing new people, neighbors, strangers, mail person, garbage person, or other dogs and if they have any history of aggression, are easily triggered or have resource aggression with humans or animals around their food/water bowls or toys. This allows me to keep your pet safe in addition to others and myself.
A typical day
While cat sitting, I take time to love on the cats, feed, replenish their water supply, clean litter box(es) as needed and finally, play with and spend time with the cat. While dog sitting, I always take time to greet and play with the dog, followed by an immediate potty break. Then, I feed and replenish their water supply. Before leaving, I take the dog out for a nice walk to ensure they fully relieve themselves but also enjoy the fresh air and surroundings. Outside time is so important for dogs especially when they spend a lot of time indoors. If the dog enjoys fetch, I make sure to toss the ball if the home has a fenced in yard.

Cat care experience
I’ve always loved all animals but didn’t actually own my very own cat until about 4 years ago. After having a tremendous amount of dog, bird and fish experience since childhood, I couldn’t help but think how much easier cats were and how comforting, sweet, snuggly, playful and funny they really could be! I’m now the proud owner of 4 adopted cats, all of whom were adopted from Medfield Animal Shelter over the course of the last 4 years. Our newest cat has epilepsy and is managed taking prescription medication twice daily. I’m very familiar with all types of cat personalities - scared/shy, super social and friendly, as well as formerly feral or newly adopted. With the latter two, I know to tread very lightly, tend to their basic needs and keep a safe distance while also being present in the same room as them to bring them some comfort and keep them company. Otherwise, I’m all in for cat cuddles, petting and playing. I’m experienced with distributing medication (liquid and pills) to cats. I’m also familiar with changing out bags on robot-type litter boxes as well as the traditional litter box trays that require scooping. I’d love the opportunity to care for your cat(s) and look forward to meeting them!
