Pet care experience

I’ve loved fostering over 150 dogs

I moved back to California in 2025 after volunteering at the Dane Co Humane Society in Wisconsin for 12 years. I served on the board for SAAV, Sheltering Animal of Abuse Victims during the last 10 years. I currently foster and volunteer for Pasadena Humane and Pup Culture Rescue. Volunteering in animal shelters the past 20 years has taught me so much about animal care, behavior and training. I’ve taken every educational and training class offered. Fostering has also given me so much medical knowledge pertaining to dogs. We primarily fostered medical cases and then expanded to seniors and dogs simply stressed in the shelter environment. I’ve adopted two pit mixes most recently and took them through AKC Good Citizen training as well as getting them certified as therapy dogs through Dogs on Call. I had cats and dogs growing up, as a young adult and now recently turning 50. I don’t have kids and have thrown my time and passion into animal welfare causes and organizations. I owned a Fetch pet care franchise in my 30’s which gave me so much insight into the proper care and hefty responsibility caring for someone’s beloved pets and home. I walked dogs for over a year for Out u Go and got so much satisfaction taking good care of and being trusted with such a fun and diverse variety of dogs. My current service radius is within 10 minutes of Monrovia. I provide walks and drop in visits between 7 am and 5 pm.

Sheila is amazing! My two dogs loved her right away and she stepped in easily to the daily routine 💕. She’s very communicative and sends pictures often. I will most certainly use her again!

With large pack of dogs of different sizes, there’s bound to be differences of personalities and perhaps conflicts. My husband and I wanted to find a sitter with dogs of their own and Ella 😊 When I read Ms Sheila’s profile, I knew she would be the perfect sitter for taking care of Ella. After our meet and greet, I was so relieved to know Ella would be with an experienced and confident dog sitter 🤩 As we dog owners know, there’s nothing more important than finding a sitter whom you trust and can depend on, my husband and I are so grateful to have found Ms Sheila ❤️

Doggy Day Care • Jul 23, 2026

As a first-time dog mom, I was so nervous about leaving Violet with someone new. Sheila was absolutely wonderful! She took the time to do a meet-and-greet beforehand and communicated with me so well that I felt completely reassured. Throughout the day, she sent me photos and updates, and when I picked Violet up, she even sent us home with a sweet note and a progress report. It was such a thoughtful touch. I feel so relieved to have found someone I can truly trust with my pup. I will definitely be using Sheila for boarding again in the future. Thank you so much, Sheila and Greg!

Amazing from service from Sheila yet again! We love getting her lively updates and photos while we are gone, and we know our cats (and our home) are in the best hands possible.

Sheila is amazing! She is a kind and caring person who did everything possible to make my cats feel comfortable. Sheila showed genuine interest in knowing about each one of my five kitties, their little idiosyncrasies, habits, and personalities. She was very communicative and made me feel confident that my kitties were well taken care of while I was away.

House Sitting • Jul 13, 2026

**Absolute Perfection!** Sheila is truly amazing! We left our dogs in her care over the weekend, and she treated them like her own. We were able to enjoy our weekend without stress or worry! Her loving approach completely put us at ease. She provided regular updates throughout our time away, so we always knew what they were up to. Sheila is very professional. She came on time and communicated her schedule with us frequently. We came home to incredibly happy, healthy, and safe dogs. To top it all off, Sheila was so incredibly kind and even left a beautiful, thoughtful gift for the dogs and a kind note for us before she left. We couldn't have asked for a better pet sitter and will absolutely be reaching out to her again. Highly, highly recommend!

Schedule

I am retired at 53 which allows me to enjoy an incredibly flexible schedule. I don’t have children but love animals and they have always been a huge part of our life. I can’t imagine life without a dog.

Safety, trust & environment

Caring for someone else’s home and animals is a huge responsibility that I take extremely seriously. I have worked for several national pet care companies and gained a tremendous amount of diverse experience which make me well suited and capable caring for a wide range of animals and the homes of their families. We have .64 acres that are fenced. While animals in my care will enjoy as much time as they want outside, they will ALWAYS be supervised. I’ve been a board member for Sheltering Animals of Abuse Victims for the past 10 years. I have a tremendous amount of respect and appreciation for the bond between people and their pets.

Pets

A typical day

Mental stimulation is as important for dogs and cats as exercise. There are so many fun things you can do with both species to help them get a healthy amount of enrichment. Most owners have specific requests and know what makes their pet happy and confident. I’m happy to cater to any special needs or behaviors.

The safety and well being of your animals is my number one priority. It will be helpful to know your pets likes and dislikes, any safety concerns you might be particular about as well as the routine your pet is most comfortable with. I hope you’ll read the reviews from those who know me best and understand why I feel so confident and well equipped to care for your pet. I require verification of current vaccine status. Safety “Mom” disclaimer- I will text you a reminder confirming you’re home safely, if I’m caring for your pets while you’re on vacation.
