After working crazy hours back in Vancouver, I’ve decided to take a break and focus on full time pet care while living abroad! This means consistency - I’m home full time with a clear daily structure. Currently I only focus on one dog at a time for walking so they have my full attention. The goal is to match your pet’s normal routine as much as possible!

We are lucky to have an apartment that gives your dog lots of room to play and relax - our complex also has a large grass courtyard for regular breaks. I do have a medium sized crate available if crate trained with a few toys and dog beds but I’d encourage bringing your pet’s favourite items to help them feel safe and comfortable!

Please let me know beforehand if your dog has any disabilities or preferences. This helps me navigate and anticipate your pets behaviour. I also ask that you provide their temperament - are they reactive, anxious, friendly, independent etc. For example, our dog growing up hated children so we always had to pay attention to our surroundings on walks 😅
A typical day
I live right next to Kalvebod Fælled which is scent central! I try to avoid the city centre and stay within Amager and Islands Brygge so that pups can get a nature break!

About Me 🐾 I grew up on a suburban farm just outside of Vancouver, Canada where caring for animals was part of everyday life from a young age. From small pets to larger animals, I learned responsibility, attentiveness, and how to understand different needs/behaviours. I’ve also had first aid training through Canine Health Canada! Now based in Copenhagen, I live in a spacious apartment in Islands Brygge right by Kalvebod Fælled—perfect for safe, active, and happy pets! Back home I worked as a paralegal but I left the corporate world to pursue a management role… where my bosses now bark orders and demand treats!

I’m thrilled to be writing this testimonial and to share just how wonderful Shayla is with my little puppy! I truly appreciate how attentive and caring she is, and how my puppy still gets excited at just the mention of her name. Last year, I left my little one with Shayla for a few days while I was undertaking a big move. What warmed my heart the most was that, upon arriving at Shayla’s, she had purchased healthy treats and toys to gift my puppy and make her feel more welcome. Over the three days my puppy was with her, I received countless photos and videos of my little one playing, resting, eating, cuddling, and going on safe walks. This level of reassurance was so comforting during my first few days away. When I picked her up, my puppy was in great health, and from that moment on, Shayla became my go-to sitter and walker!!
Shayla is great and I cannot recommend her enough as a pet-sitter. When out of town, I always had peace of mind knowing my animals (cat and dog) were in her care. She is attentive, caring, thoughtful and genuinely loves animals. She always took the time to check in, play, and make sure my cat was well-fed, and giving my energetic chihuahua the exercise he needed to stay happy and calm. Shayla is reliable, kind, and truly loves animals. I would highly recommend her to friends, family, clients, without hesitation.
I can’t recommend Shayla enough! She has taken care of my dog, Ollie, as a regular walker, and I’ve always felt completely at ease knowing he’s with her. Shayla goes above and beyond your typical dog walk. She would take Ollie on long walks and hikes, which he absolutely loved. It meant so much to me knowing he was getting not just exercise, but real enrichment and adventure. Ollie is high-energy and needs a lot of stimulation, and she handled that so well. He always came home happy, tired, and clearly well cared for. It’s obvious how much she genuinely loves dogs and treats them like her own. I would trust her with Ollie anytime and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and active dog sitter or walker.
