I currently work mornings Wednesday through Saturday from 5am until 3pm. I’m home most of the time when I am not at work, which allows me to spend my free time with my own pets and any pets I may be caring for at the time.

I really enjoy the company and companionship that pets can provide. I can easily crate your dog if needed, and have no issues working with pets who may need a little more patience. At my home, pets are typically not alone for more than a couple hours since there’s usually somebody home most of the day. The home is quiet and not busy with many people coming and going, so it’s a great calm environment for any pet.

I love and welcome all dog breeds and sizes. I like to know any “special” information about the dog before sitting - if they have any medical issues, are/are not good with other dogs/cats/etc., and boundaries that you typically set for them (for example: they are/aren’t allowed on furniture or in certain rooms, not allowed to eat table scraps, are allowed only a certain number of treats per day, etc.). I’ve found that these preferences are different for everyone and want to make sure I can be as consistent with yours as possible!

I enjoy walking or running on the greenway or exploring new parks/hiking trails in the area. I tend to adjust my energy level to match that of the dog I am working with so that they can get play and exercise that is fun and stimulating for them without potentially over-exerting themselves.

I grew up with cats and dogs both in my home and the homes of close family members, and currently own three cats. I have extensive experience caring for both cats and dogs, and worked at a grooming salon for over 3 years. This means I’m very experienced in caring for dogs of all sizes and ages, including dogs with special needs. I’m also experienced in administering medications to both dogs and cats. My availability is typically early-mid mornings, and early afternoons. I love being around and walking/playing with animals, and miss being able to work with animals all day the way I used to. I would love to take your dog for a run or to a park for play, or stop in to give your furry companions some attention and playtime at home. I am outgoing and friendly, and strive to give animals the best level of care possible!

We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our German Shepherd and Husky during our week away. From the start, she was communicative, attentive, and clearly experienced with larger, high-energy breeds. She sent us photos and updates, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were gone. She also handled our German Shepherd perfectly, even on his more stubborn “butthead” moments — with patience, confidence, and care. It was obvious she knew exactly how to read him and respond appropriately. We came home to happy, well-cared-for dogs, and that means everything to us. We will absolutely be using her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring sitter.
Shawnee was fantastic with my little one. She treated her with love and care, leaving my home spotless. I would highly recommend!
Shawnee provided us with pictures and updates while we were out of town. We were delightfully surprised at how well our dog loved her, too! We will definitely be using Shawnee again!! She is awesome!
Shawnee did an excellent job house sitting & watching our girl Missy during our vacation. This was our first time using Rover, so we weren’t sure of what to expect. But, we were absolutely thrilled knowing that Missy was well taken care of & loved while we were away. She went above & beyond to help care for Missy, and she also took excellent care of the house too! 100% would recommend!
