I’m a fun, patient, attentive and big-hearted animal lover with a lifetime of experience caring for pets. Growing up with a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and reptiles, I’ve developed a deep understanding of their needs. I’ve cared for pets ranging from reptiles and fish, to senior dogs and cats, to puplies and brand new kittens. At 19, I adopted my first dog, a Bull Mastiff, and raised him from a 6-week-old puppy to a 140-pound adult. I’ve also cared for my family’s cats after my mother passed, and I lovingly adopted a 12-year-old Cairn Terrier, providing him with care until his passing at 16.5 years. While I have no formal training, I have a natural ability to train animals with patience and love, always using a firm yet gentle approach. I’m experienced in handling a variety of species, including reptiles like ball pythons and geckos, and have even assisted with rescuing wildlife. What sets me apart is my genuine love for animals, my diverse experience, and my ability to provide both playful and responsible care. Your pet will feel loved, safe, and well-cared for with me!

Shawna was prompt and communicative. My dogs were attended to and enjoyed their time with Shawna.
Decided 5 days into my 15 day trip that it was too much work (after 2 home visits where expectations were clearly laid out, and I did not require overnight stays). Left me high and dry, figuring out on my own, at 3am in New Zealand, how to find coverage. While she did provide a partial refund, the amount of stress caused was not worth the monetary payback.
Shawna cancelled just hours before our trip so we had to scramble to find arrangements for our 2 pups so we could make a flight.
Shawna was a life saver! After learning of my MIL’s passing a week before Spring Break, let’s just say, we were having a hard time finding a pet/house sitter. We met Shawna on Tuesday and she was staying at our house with our 2 anxious boys Thursday night. Shawna did everything right making sure the boys were taken well care of and even wanted to vacuum & change sheets in order for our home to be ready for our return. She went above and beyond and we will definitely plan any future trips with Shawna!
Shawna boarded my pup for 2 days. Appreciated that she took her out on long walks and kept me updated on how she was doing. Was also flexible on drop off and pick up times. Thank you!
We had a great experience with Shawna. Ali is a senior dog with some challenges but things all went as well as they could have . We were very happy with Shawna’s care of Ali which was most important. Will be calling in the future. Colleen and Gary Kogut and Ali too !!

Planning
I live alone, lost the last of my own critters, and am a seasonal traveler. I go to Argentina for a couple months every winter so I can’t responsibly own pets of my own, but I am built to be around them! I need animals in my life so this is as much for me as it is for you. I work remotely so I have a lot of flexibility especially when it comes to sitting or walking from my home or town.

I can be very attentive to your animal to whatever fits their comfort level. I am very active so am I game for hikes, walks, and lots of playing, but can also enjoy a nice sit and snuggle with an elderly friend. I live alone so there would be no triggers from children, other animals, etc. once they’re in my house. I live walking distance from several trails and parks. I also love taking dogs for car rides! Whatever they wish. I am very attentive so I ensure your baby will be content and cared for to the best of our ability.
