I work from home so their day is my day! My older son gets on the bus on weekdays at 7am. I work and homeschool my younger son for most of the day. Evenings here are very relaxed and involve a lot of couch and tv or video game time. I am still a mom of kids so we occasionally have appointments and activities that take us away from the house. I either don't watch dogs on these days or I make sure you're aware and okay with that happening.

Information Shawna M. would like to know about your pet

If you have a lovebug who wants to do zoomies in the yard with me and Aurora throughout the day and be my sidekick while I work, then I'm your girl. I also love puppies! They may take extra care, but it's the best getting to be part of their introduction to the world. I love all animals for drop-ins, but low to medium needs dogs will be the happiest here. If your baby is a husky who does opera performances every time you leave the room or a velcro yorkie that needs to be toted around in a baby carrier, then I'm open to the challenge, but I'm probably not their perfect sitter long term. No matter what their quirks though, I look forward to getting to know them! Before I take care of any dog, I like to know their likes and dislikes. I know it can be hard to talk about their less than desirable behavior but it's important that I know if they resource guard, are scared of certain types of situations or people and if they've ever had issues anywhere else before. This ensures that I can keep them feeling safe and happy while they're with me.

A typical day

My dogs and boarders get let out every 2-3 hours. Depending on the weather we play in the backyard or if they enjoy Aurora she keeps them busy. Rainy days I try to do mental stimulation like food puzzles and games for the dogs that have energy they need to burn.

Pet care experience

Ever met someone who'd choose the company of pets over people any day? Well, that's me. I'm naturally curious and always trying to understand why animals and people do the things they do. Getting to know their individual personalities has been a lifelong hobby, and I'd love the chance to get to know your pet's quirks! My pack currently includes Aurora, a goofy 2-year-old golden retriever bursting with love that she's too afraid to give, and Trillian, a wise but grumpy 14-year-old mini schnauzer mix who hates everyone but me and my husband (don't worry, she keeps to herself). The feline contingent is comprised of Sir Wilfred the Bleps, a distinguished 4-year-old tabby, and Speck, a 5-month-old Manx who is so weird that she's beyond description. I also have two spirited human boys who are 8 and 10.

Shawna was amazing with communication and Honey absolutely loved her! She took into consideration the heat and what would be safer for Honey’s paws and left me know how the walks were everyday and made me feel really at ease knowing Honey was safe while I was at work. Would definitely book with her again

Thank you for giving Buddy a fun environment to spend his day. Your location was ideal for our day of Bourbon tasting.
