I have been involved in animal care in some form for most of my life. As a child, I helped care for several family dogs, and as a teen I had full responsibility for freshwater fish. In my young adult years, I worked in primate labs in college, assisting in the care of rhesus macaque monkeys. Post-college, I volunteered for several years at the South Carolina Aquarium, helping to care for a variety of saltwater and freshwater fish. As an adult, I have owned 2 dogs. One was a Carolina Dog that was rescued as a puppy and had lifelong aggressive stranger anxiety. He passed away at the age of 14. My energetic Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever was rescued as a young dog and is now 13. We also welcomed two leopard geckos into our home in 2022 and they are thriving. I have experience with dogs of all ages.
