I've been a dog lover all my life and a dog owner for most of it. Most of my experience is with small dogs, but I haven't met a dog yet that I didn't love. I've read many books about dog behavior and training so I'm confident in my ability to cope with most situations. I've had a puppy, a geriatric dog, and everything in between, so I've experienced the entire continuum of dog aging and done everything from potty training to giving oral medicine. My schedule is flexible and I am home more than not so I'm almost always around to go for a walk or keep an eye on your pup. To misquote Benjamin Franklin "[dogs] are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy".
