Pet care experience

Calm Home • Small Dogs • No Kids

Hi, I’m Shaun. I provide a calm, peaceful home where small dogs can truly relax and feel at ease. I specialize in caring for gentle, sensitive pups who do best in a quiet, low-stress environment. My home is intentionally calm. No chaos, no children and no large dogs just a safe space where little ones can settle in, feel secure, and be themselves. I’m home most of the day (retired), so your pup receives consistent attention, comfort, supervision, and companionship throughout their stay. I take time to understand each dog’s personality, routines, and comfort level. Whether they love cuddling close, relaxing nearby, or simply enjoying a peaceful environment, I adjust to their pace and needs. I’m especially patient with shy or anxious dogs, and my goal is always for your dog to feel safe, relaxed, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. If you’re new to Rover, feel free to use my code SHAUND29453 for $40 off your first booking!

We met up with Shaun prior to having him take our dachshunds overnight. He asked questions about their needs and watched how they interacted with us. He makes his home a calm place for them. Our pups settled in very quickly. Shaun shared photos and comments each day, which eased my mind. We already have another reservation with him for Oct. - Monique

Shaun takes great care of Izzy keeping her safe and happy. He’s very flexible and accommodating with his time. He was so sweet and brought Izzy to me after my surgery. He gives me peace of mind when I must travel. She is so healthy and happy when I pick her up. I trust him and recommend him as a very caring dog sitter. He’s number one in my book!

Shaun was great to work with. We reached out last minute and he responded right away. We were concerned with leaving our pup because she had recently gone into heat but we provided diapers and he was happy to watch her. He sent messages and pictures throughout her stay and our pup seemed like she had a great time with all the new little friends.

Schedule

Because I’m home full-time, pet care is the heart of my daily routine not something I squeeze in. I structure my day around the dogs in my care, which means frequent potty breaks, playtime, meals, cuddles, and calm rest periods throughout the day. I don’t rush dogs or leave them alone while I run errands. My schedule is intentionally simple so I can be fully present and attentive. Whether your pup needs a slow morning, midday snuggles, or an early dinner, I adapt to their rhythm. Weekdays and weekends look very similar here: quiet, consistent, and dog-focused. Your dog won’t be one of many they’ll be part of my daily life and get the time, routine, and attention they need to feel safe and happy away from home.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and comfort are my highest priorities. Because I only care for smaller dogs, my home is intentionally set up for small pups, no large dogs, no children, and no unpredictable activity. This creates a peaceful environment where small dogs can relax without fear of being overwhelmed or injured. I supervise all pets closely. My space is secure and safe, with size appropriate toys. I maintain a consistent routine with frequent potty breaks, calm transitions, and lots of reassurance, which helps reduce anxiety and build trust quickly. I treat every dog as an individual, learning their preferences, habits, and comfort levels. Whether your pup needs extra cuddles, a soft space to nap, help with medication, or simply someone patient enough to earn their trust, I make sure they feel safe and understood. My promise is simple: your dog will be cared for in a clean, quiet, structured, and secure home where they receive continuous attention and affection the kind of environment small dogs thrive in.

A typical day

A typical day here is designed around comfort, confidence, and small-dog joy. We start the morning with gentle wake up cuddles, a potty break, and breakfast at each dog’s pace. After that, we enjoy short play sessions with size appropriate toys, sniff around time, and relaxed socializing no chaos, no overwhelm, just little dogs being themselves. Throughout the day, we rotate between play, rest, and attention. Some pups love lap time, others enjoy sunbathing by the window, and a few prefer quiet corners with a cozy blanket. I watch their cues and tailor activities to what makes them happiest. Afternoons usually include another stretch break, enrichment toys, and calm indoor games like fetch, tug, or puzzle feeders if they enjoy them. We keep everything low impact and safe for tiny paws and delicate frames. Evenings wind down with a final potty break, and comfy bedtime spots so each pup feels secure. My goal is simple: your dog should feel relaxed, loved, entertained, and right at home like they’re on a vacation of their own.

I’m lucky to live only half a block from a beautiful park where I walk daily, and I’d love to include your dog in my routine. I’m also close to a dog park (just two blocks away!) and can take your pup there for some fun, if you’re comfortable with it.
