I’m a retired teacher and new to the area. I work twoflexible part time jobs (substitute teacher and at a local community college) that allow me to make my own schedule. I’ll be able to work around my commitments to you and your pets.

Safety, trust & environment
When I enter your home I’ll do carefully in order to ensure that no one escapes. I’ll check the area for safety concerns for your pet, and find your pet and spend some time checking in with them. I’ll feed the pet and clean up while they eat. How long I stay will be based upon our agreement to meet the pet’s needs. When I leave I’ll be careful no one escapes.

Please let me know if any medical concerns in advance. Also let me know if your cat has a favorite hiding place that I might need to find them at. If they are one that hangs by the door ready to escape let me know so I can come in prepared.
A typical day
I love to play with cats, if you have toys for them, I’m happy to sit and let them get a little bit of play and exercise. I also love cats snuggles once your cat warms up to me.

Cat care experience
I was raised with cats, I had either one or two cats my whole life up until I was about 35. When it came time to get pets again, I chose guinea pigs due to the allergies of someone else in the home. I have had up to 5 guinea pigs at a time and currently have two when my daughter comes to visit I help take care of her two cats that travel with her. Additionally, I’ve just joined a pet/house sitting site and will be doing travel cat sits beginning in June. I’ve also helped to take care of my daughter’s rabbit when she used to live with me.

Sharie Settlemyer did an excellent job taking care of my cat, Fig! From the moment she met Fig, she did her very best to. Build a relationship with him. I know this because Fig is shy & nervous. She shared photos to assure me Fig had stopped hiding & was sitting near him! Fig was very well taken care of - fed him, made sure he had water & cleaned his liter box as needed! Strongly recommend Sharie to take care of your pets!
