Pet care seamlessly integrates into our daily and weekly routine. My husband, Werner, works full-time but has the flexibility of working from home twice a week (this may increase in the future). I also work full-time, though my shift-based schedule allows for varying hours. This combination of work arrangements provides us with significant flexibility, enabling us to dedicate ample time to caring for your furry family members. We understand that pets thrive on companionship, and we always try our best to avoid leaving a pet alone for extended periods. There might be a small window where a pet is unsupervised, but we actively minimise this by coordinating our schedules. The presence of both Werner and I, with our adaptable work lives, offers an added layer of support and flexibility, ensuring consistent and personalised care even with unexpected events. This home-based environment, combined with our dedicated approach, allows us to provide a comfortable and enriching experience for your pets.

Safety, trust, and a nurturing environment are our top priorities in every pet care situation. When we're caring for your pet in my home, we adhere to strict safety protocols. In our home, this means a secure, pet-proofed space, regular cleaning, and separate areas for different animals if needed. We follow your specific instructions regarding feeding, medication, exercise, and any other routines to maintain consistency and minimise stress for your pet. We maintain open communication, providing regular updates and photos. We are committed to building a trusting relationship with both you and your pet, ensuring peace of mind while you're away.

Information Sharné B. would like to know about your pet

To ensure the best possible care for your pet, it's important for us to know as much as possible about them beforehand. This includes their breed, age, spayed/neutered and any relevant medical history, such as allergies, medications, or behavioural issues. Understanding their typical temperament, energy levels, and social preferences (e.g., how they interact with other animals or children) is crucial for creating a safe and comfortable environment. Information about their feeding schedule, dietary restrictions, and preferred types of food is also essential. Finally, details about their favourite toys, activities, and any specific routines or habits they have will help me maintain consistency and provide personalised care that meets their individual needs. The more information you can share, the better equipped we'll be to provide a positive and enriching experience for your beloved companion.

A typical day

Since Werner works from home two days a week and I have a shift-based schedule, we can often incorporate multiple walks throughout the day, ensuring the pets get plenty of exercise and enrichment. We are fortunate to live in an area with access to lovely green spaces, so we can vary our walking routes to keep things interesting. This might include strolls through local parks in Sevenoaks, or exploring nearby footpaths. For more active and playful dogs, we love to play fetch and engage in interactive games in the open spaces nearby. We're happy to use their own puzzle toys and enrichment feeders to stimulate their minds and provide mental exercise, especially during any brief periods they might be left alone. Even for less active or older pets, we ensure they receive plenty of gentle attention, cuddles, and opportunities for comfortable naps in various cozy spots around the house. We're happy to tailor activities to each pet's individual needs and preferences, whether it's a vigorous play session, a leisurely sniff-filled walk, or simply some quiet companionship and belly rubs. Our aim is to make their stay with us as enjoyable and stimulating as possible!

Sharne and Werner were very professional - taking time to ask lots of questions about Nelly so they could look after her as well as possible. I am very grateful to them for taking such good care of her and reassuring me with many updates and photos. She obviously felt very comfortable and happy with them.

We left our dogs with Sharné for a week while we were away, and we couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Our dogs clearly had a fantastic time and were very well looked after throughout their stay. Sharné kept us updated with plenty of photos and regular communication, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. It was obvious that the dogs were treated as part of the family and received lots of care, attention and affection. We came home to happy, relaxed dogs, which says everything. I would highly recommend Sharné to anyone looking for a caring, reliable and trustworthy dog sitter, and we wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again.

Sharné and Werner were a perfect choice for our Westie, Rufus. They took wonderful care of him and were so professional, warm and communicative - we had absolutely no worries during our break as we knew he was being treated like a part of their family. Rufus came home happy and settled and we are so grateful to have found such incredible people to care for him in the future! Thank you Sharné and Werner.

Sharné provided a wonderful 'home away from home' for our dog when we were away. She was attentive to our dog's routine and gave him plenty of affection and exercise. We received regular updates and photos which was great. We found her to be professional and kind. We returned to a happy, well-cared-for-dog.
