My dog has a specific routine each day, so I want to maintain your pet's routine while you are away. In addition, I am certified in Pet First-Aid & CPR to provide further peace of mind while caring for your pets.

Information Shari V. would like to know about your pet

Veterinary Information - I will need vet name and contact information to have in the event of emergency. Emergency Contact Information- Who do I need to contact in the event of an emergency. Medications, Special Needs or Allergies- Specific instructions for required medications. Personality Traits - Their unique traits (Timid, affectionate, independent, etc.) Feeding Instructions - How many times do you feed them in a day? How much? Any Special Diet Restrictions? Any special treats they like? What activities do they like? - Play ball, walk, run, socialize with other dogs. Comfort Zone - Do they like to spend time in crate? Do they like to lay under a desk or table as a den? What do they do to make themselves feel safe? Behavioral Issues - Trouble walking on a leash, separation anxiety, aggressiveness towards other dogs or people, etc.

A typical day

First things first, we will need to get your pet outside to read the pee-mail with a walk to sniff and find out what's going on in the neighborhood. If your dog is a ball hound, I know some great nearby dog parks for a comfortable one on one game of chuck-it or soccer. My high-energy pooch loves to run through the agility equipment at her favorite nearby dog park to release that pent up energy and can teach the course to any fellow zoomers. To keep their curiosity juices flowing, I have snuffle matts, doggy puzzles and doggy scavenger hunts.

Pet care experience

Hello pet parents, I recently retired from the corporate life to pet your dogs and cats on a full-time basis! I grew up in rural Southern IL and cared for multiple dogs, cats, and horses that were part of our family. I currently love and care for our high-energy Aussie/Border Collie mix dog who is 10 years old and is always up for an adventure. In addition, I have had the pleasure of taking care of family, friends and neighbors' pets when they have needed assistance.

Shari took great care of our German Shepherd while we were out of the country on vacation. She sent great updates and was understanding of our dog’s specific behaviors (e.g., reactivity). We will certainly use her again.
