As the child of a professional dog trainer, I have been around animals of all sorts - dogs, cats, small rodents, snakes, pretty. much anything that can be kept in a house. I have fostered roughly 40 dogs ranging from tiny to giant, and every age range. I have also fostered cats at every age range, including groups of kittens. I can give most medications and am comfortable with shy and fearful animals.

This was our first time boarding our dog for a trip and we had the very best experience. Shanti was great with communication during booking and throughout our trip. She sent us regular updates and it was clear that our pup was having a good time and able to relax in her care. We would definitely recommend this sitter.
Cora is always excited to stay with Shanti and gets along so well with the whole family. My return flight was delayed way past my expectations and she was really sweet about allowing cora to stay even though it meant arriving til late in the evening. She's been my first pick sitter since we moved to the area.
Shanti and her family are so great w my senior pup. He’s stayed w them twice now. She is very comfortable accommodating my dog’s various health needs and sends small updates daily. Drop off/pick up is easy. We will definitely be using shanti again!

Schedule
I am currently semi-retired and available throughout the day. I do have a child whose school and sports schedule I work around, so most of my availability is during the school day, but I can make time during the day with advance notice.

Safety, trust & environment
I have a large, but fenced yard and live within a few yards of Mark Twain park. I have an older resident dog and resident cat who have helped foster every dog and cat that comes through the house. I have a separate basement and bedroom that can be used if needed, especially for cats who may need their own space. I have a crate if needed as well, though there is nearly always someone at home to keep the animals company.
Pets
A typical day
We love to take long walks in the morning and afternoon, with outside breaks throughout the day and before bed. While I can no longer run with my resident dog because of his age, I'd sure love to bring your pup on a run if they are interested! My daughter is likely to build a bespoke bed for your pet, because she loves making them feel at home.
