I’m a freelance artist with a flexible schedule which gives me availability and openness for your pet’s needs and to stay in your home so that your pet has their normal routine. Additional plant and home check in then is included for peace of mind.

My years of experience with a variety of different animal breeds—especially with senior dogs, animals with disabilities, and pets with extra needs makes me comfortable creating a caring environment for your pet. I follow specific diet plans, med plans (oral, liquids, and injectables), exercise routes, and daily routines. I adhere to what your pets need and always check in with photos and excellent communication. I also use best practices and judgement for the safety of your precious animals that I would extend to my own. I am independently insured for pet sitting (in the home and dog walking).

I love to know if there’s certain behaviors I should be aware of—I get along with animals with all sorts of personalities. From puppies to seniors. Medications, likes/dislikes, and any special reactions or behaviors are things I love to know! Knowing if your pet is up to date on vaccines is also necessary.
A typical day
I love to know the schedule that your animal is used to and best adhere to that. From meal times to the triple expected walk (that my dog now expects because of the pandemic), and favorite toys!

Pet care experience
I’ve had fifteen plus years of pet sitting including special experience and care with new puppies, seniors, and pets with disabilities/illnesses/very specific diets that required extra TLC. When I look after your pet, I want them to have the same wonderful experience they always get—maybe with a couple more treats snuck in for some extra pampering. Working in the theater has kept me cool under pressure (hah) and I am then able to implement useful skills and knowledge such as dog CPR, poison control practices (including plant and food safety for cats and dogs), and pet behavior. I’ve taken care of various exotic animals and am always willing and eager to learn the ropes for a new furry or unfurry friend.

I immediately rebooked with Shannon after an amazing first experience and both me and my cat Margot were so happy she was available! Shannon goes above and beyond and does such a great job!
Shannon was an incredible sitter for my cat Margot while I was gone for a week. She provided the most newsy updates and got to know Margot and her habits quite quickly. I could tell from all of the great photos that Margot was happy whenever Shannon was there! Shannon was consistent with her visit times and spent quality time petting, playing and caring for Margot. I felt really at ease during my trip knowing that Margot was in such good hands.
We love Shannon, and our cat loves her more than we do. She's responsive, a fun communicator (with pictures!) so we know exactly how our kitty is doing. The house is well cared for. Many thanks to Shannon. Mia misses you already.
