I love being a pet sitter because I’m just so passionate about dogs (and all other animals too)! Nothing makes me happier than spending time getting to know them and caring for them, so being a sitter really is a dream come true for me. Dedicating my time to keeping them safe, happy, and healthy is always a rewarding experience. Dogs bring so much joy and happiness to our lives, and I love contributing to that, being part of their lives, and giving back all the love they give us! I have years of experience of professional pet sitting/boarding/dog walking in addition to volunteering at various animal shelters. I’m well-versed in obedience and leash training, and am a skilled practitioner of positive reinforcement methods. I enjoy walking a variety of dogs - all breeds, ages, temperaments, personalities, shapes, and sizes - to continuously learn about, and deepen my understanding of canine behavior. I'm also well acquainted with the gamut of leashes, collars, and harnesses out there, and have experience leash training dogs of all ages. On walks, we will bond, learn, communicate, exercise, explore, and always have lots of fun! I always like to schedule a meet-and-greet when taking on a new client, because it’s a great opportunity for us to meet and make sure we are all a good fit for one another. When I meet a dog for the first time, I bring treats (always being mindful to check with the owner about allergies first, of course). Reading the dog’s body language and behavior, I adapt to whatever makes them most comfortable, communicating that I’m happy to be the new best friend! I like getting as much information on each canine client before caring for them – anything and everything from what they love to do, what their favorite toy is, to dietary needs/restrictions and overall personality. The more I know, the better! I don’t prefer any breed preferences; I love them all! During our time together, I treat every pet as if they were my own. Providing high-quality care fueled by my love for animals is the name of my game, so I take to heart the responsibility of keeping pets happy and healthy. I pride myself on providing loving, patient, and professional care that caters to each dog's unique personality, specific needs, and favorite activities. Establishing meaningful relationships with owners and pets, rooted in trust, respect and understanding, is at the heart of my pet care approach. I always aim to give high-quality care, and look forward to providing the best experience imaginable!
