Pet care experience
Professional Treat Distributor
I grew up with animals and started pet-sitting for neighbors in middle school. We now have two amazing dogs that we rescued on island, and they keep us on our toes—so I’m comfortable handling just about anything. I have experience with administering medications, reinforcing basic training and routines using e-collars and/or positive reinforcement, and handling reactive dogs during outdoor adventures. While I’m not a certified trainer by any means, we’ve worked closely with a few trainers for our oldest and I carry that experience into my care.

Safety, trust & environment
Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’m attentive, patient, and always focused on reading a dog’s body language and needs. I follow care instructions closely, keep routines consistent, and make sure gates, leashes, and doors are secure. I aim to create a calm, low-stress environment during visits so your pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for—especially when you’re not home. While I can’t bring animals into my own home (our oldest is not friendly), I can provide in-home visits, walks, and playtime so your pet can stay comfortable in their own space.
Ratings and reviews
Shannon has done an exceptional dog walking my puppy for several weeks now. She was flexible with ongoing construction at my house and made sure my puppy got the play time and comfort he needed. Highly recommend Shannon!

Fantastic job nurturing my puppy with daily feedings, a short watch, and play time in the yard. He was always happy in the photos Shannon sent and well behaved when we returned home. Shannon is also super flexible and a pleasure to work with.

Schedule
I’m currently transitioning out of active duty and have a flexible schedule as I figure out what’s next. I’m looking for fun, meaningful ways to fill my time, and spending it with dogs felt like an easy yes. I’m more than happy to stop by for walks, playtime, and check-ins, and to give your dog some extra attention while you’re away.

- What’s most helpful to know ahead of time is your pet’s routine and personality. Things like feeding schedules, walking preferences, energy level, and any quirks or triggers go a long way. I also appreciate knowing about leash behavior, reactivity, medication needs, and how your pet usually responds to new people or situations. The more I know upfront, the easier it is for me to keep things calm, safe, and familiar for your pet. Lastly, I appreciate meeting an owner and their pet(s) beforehand for a more personal introduction.
