Pet care experience
I'm a Social Work Clinician by trade but I've had animals all my life and gain so much joy being around them. My father was a Veterinarian and my mom was an animal rescuer. My first job ever was actually working at my dad's Vet clinic! I have experience pet sitting, administering medications (both injections and pill form) and subcutaneous fluids, dog walking, feeding all sorts of animals and lots of play and snuggles :)

Shannon has watched my cats for me, and they love her so much. They are happy to see her, and she is very caring to them!
Shannon is naturally empathic and was great with my dog, who is a rescue and needed constant reassurance. She used a soothing tone of voice and knew when to give him space and when to scratch his belly. He was very happy with her.
Shannon cared for my elderly long haired chihuahua for years. She babysat, took her on walks, and pushed her in strollers in her old age. Shannon and her daughter were so loving and attentive! My little gal could not have been in better hands. Highly recommend.
Shannon is amazing! When we lived next door to each other I would work 2 jobs, so there were many evenings that she would come take my 2 dogs for their walk, and feed them dinner. She always made time to give them both some love, and even helped me clean up their messes if needed. My sweet girls love her, and I always felt my girls were always in wonderful care. First and foremost, I make sure the pet feels safe. I realize that it can take time to build trust with an animal, and so I use a calming voice and pay attention to signs that pets feel comfortable to engage and play. I'm also happy to send updates and photos of pets to their owners for each visit!

I'd love to know of any special needs your pets may have and whether or not they need medication. I'd also like to know if you prefer that we stay at home or are open to taking them for car rides and on hikes. I'd also be interested in whether or not they get along with other dogs and if dog parks are appropriate for your pup. Lastly, any aggressive behavior I would need to know about or any areas of your pet's bodies I should not pet.
A typical day
For cats, I love playing with them and snuggles (if they are up for it!). For doggos, I am a hike-lover and so am open to hiking with dogs or running around and playing outdoors, depending on how much time we have together.

Availability
I am free most Wednesday mornings, and have a flexible work-from-home schedule Thursdays and Fridays with ample availability as well as every other weekend. I'm available for pet care during those times.
