Dependable Dad/Daughter Veteran Duo

We are the father/daughter tag team here to help care for your best friend as a dog/cat sitter! Shannon loves helping with cats and dogs, and has 26 years of personal dog experience. Jim has 55 years of personal dog experience! ~ We have our own private pet insurance coverage, so you are in trusted hands with us. ~ DISCOUNT $20 OFF for 1st time Rover customers with promo code SHANND57623 at https://www.rover.com/sit/shannd57623 ABOUT SHANNON: She lives in Clear Spring, MD with their two dogs- Cooper, a male Bichon Frise and Callie, a female red sable German Shepherd, who are loved to the moon and back! Shannon is very comfortable with administering medications should your dog need it, as Cooper, and her previous German Shepherd, Riley, both took medications for chronic conditions. She currently volunteers at the Humane Society of Washington County, and in 2017, she volunteered at Riverside County Coachella Valley Animal Shelter in California, walking mostly pits and large breeds. She loves being active and fit, runs her Shepherd everyday, and understands the importance of a worn out dog. She is current on the American Red Cross Dog First Aid/CPR Certification. Lastly, she is a Nurse Practitioner (and former military officer), so your dog and your home are in safe hands. Rest assured, Shannon will take great care of your doggos, with fun & and safety being the goal! ABOUT JIM: Jim lives with his wife in Montgomery County, MD. Shannon is his only kid, but he does have 1 fur-kid, a Wheaten Terrier/Poodle named Duffy. Jim is retired from the U.S. Army and the U.S. Postal Service, so he has an open schedule. He got his first dog when he was 16 years old, had three dogs in his teen years, along with two dogs and two cats at various times while in the military. He has unfortunately become allergic to cats though over time, so Shannon is the go-to for cats. As a dog owner, Jim understands the human-dog bond, and has always made it a priority to care for them like a family member. Jim started doing visits with Shannon so he could have "something fun" to do now that he is fully retired!

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

- We have our own private pet insurance. This provides both you and us with reassurance and safety during visits. - Water bowls are always full & fresh, and there's lots of play and cuddle time! - We are both well-experienced with potty training, young, and senior dogs/cats. - We understand the importance of "sticking to the routine," especially when mom/dad (ie. you) aren't there. Dogs especially like their version of "normal," and anything different can be stressful, so we prefer to maintain whatever routines you have with them! - On walks, we are always vigilant and actively scan for stray dogs and other hazards. Your dogs safety, as well as ours, is top priority! They will never be left unattended or out of our sight. - We will always be sure to close and lock any doors before we leave and make sure there isn't anything in plain site that they could possibly get in to.

Shannon is so sweet with my dogs. I have an anxious dog, especially with new people, and she warmed right up to Shannon. She was accommodating, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to make sure my dogs and home were well taken care of! Highly recommend!
