Safety, trust & environment
I unfortunately cannot care for animals in my own home. Because your dog’s health is my top priority, I combine my veterinary nursing background with daily care. I always implement safe routines, including mandatory downtime between meals and exercise to protect against digestive upset and Bloat (at least 60 minutes pre/post meal). You can rest assured your pet is in safe, clinical hands. For any animals on medications that have been prescribed by a veterinarian, please let me know and I can administer these. For any specific rules/requirements, please also let me know.

Information Shannon I. would like to know about your pet
I’d like to know about any reactivity, any dislikes or any medical issues i need to be aware of and any food intolerances. I’d like to know what their favourite treat is and things they would like to do too! If owners could also let me know how their pets are with car rides (if i take them somewhere longer to get to).
A typical day
Animals are my entire life, especially working as a veterinary nurse. Enrichment and exercise are very important for them and I will provide as much as the owner would like. This includes play time, training, walking, and even socialisation. If your animal loves treats let me know their favourite ones and I’ll bring some along, likewise if they have a favourite hobby, I will incorporate this. I enjoy coming up with different ways of enrichment for them.

Registered Veterinary Nurse 🐾
Pet care experience
I’m a registered veterinary nurse with experience caring for a wide variety of dogs and cats with different personalities and temperaments. I have worked in multiple veterinary practices and have a strong understanding of animal behaviour, body language, and welfare, including supporting nervous or fearful animals. I graduated from university with a Bachelors degree in veterinary nursing, and during my time at university, I worked in a veterinary practice, undertook a volunteering programme in Tenerife at an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre, and started up my rover/sitting services. I have had experience with my own animals including dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, horses, parrots, and have nursed rabbits and guinea pigs within a clinical setting. I offer dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting in owners’ homes. Drop-ins can include playtime, feeding, toileting, and enrichment, and I’m happy to incorporate basic training such as practising commands, loose-lead walking, and recall during walks or visits. I can also provide routine husbandry support, such as nail clipping or basic grooming, provided your pet is comfortable and it can be done safely without restraint. I’m confident administering prescribed medications as directed by your vet. Some additional services (husbandry and training) may incur a small extra fee. I’m generally available all day, everyday, with the occasional responsibilities. I’m always happy to discuss individual needs and find an arrangement that works for both you and your pet. There may be a small additional fee for clients further than 10 miles away.

Reviews

Shannon was so great looking after our dog, we were a little apprehensive as it was the first time we have left her with someone who isn't family but Shannon was the perfect sitter for our dog and we wouldn't hesitate to book her again. We got updates throughout that day and came home to a happy content dog. :)

Shannon does a lovely job of dropping in to look after my dog so I can have an evening away for a few hours and I don’t have to worry ! X

Shannon dropped in to feed and let out my dog and did an excellent job! ….. even washed up the dog bowl! It was lovely to be able to go out for the evening knowing my dog would be looked after and not left for too long on her own. I will definitely get Shannon to help out again .

Shannon was amazing. She was happy to do a meet and greet and spent the whole day with Persy. She was very comunicative and responsive to all our messages. She really put us at ease as we were nervous to leave her for the first time for a holiday! Thank you Shannon! Will definitely use again 😊
