Pet care experience
Registered Veterinary Nurse 🐾
I’m a registered veterinary nurse with experience caring for a wide variety of dogs and cats with different personalities and temperaments. I have worked in multiple veterinary practices and have a strong understanding of animal behaviour, body language, and welfare, including supporting nervous or fearful animals. I graduated from university with a Bachelors degree in veterinary nursing, and during my time at university, I worked in a veterinary practice, undertook a volunteering programme in Tenerife at an animal rescue and rehabilitation centre, and started up my rover/sitting services. I have had experience with my own animals including dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, horses, parrots, and have nursed rabbits and guinea pigs within a clinical setting. I offer dog walks, drop-in visits, and house sitting in owners’ homes. Drop-ins can include playtime, feeding, toileting, and enrichment, and I’m happy to incorporate basic training such as practising commands, loose-lead walking, and recall during walks or visits. I can also provide routine husbandry support, such as nail clipping or basic grooming, provided your pet is comfortable and it can be done safely without restraint. I’m confident administering prescribed medications as directed by your vet. Some additional services (husbandry and training) may incur a small extra fee. I’m generally available all day, everyday, with the occasional responsibilities. I’m always happy to discuss individual needs and find an arrangement that works for both you and your pet. There may be a small additional fee for clients further than 10 miles away.

Qualifications
Safety, trust & environment
I unfortunately cannot care for animals in my own home. Because your dog’s health is my top priority, I combine my veterinary nursing background with daily care. I always implement safe routines, including mandatory downtime between meals and exercise to protect against digestive upset and Bloat (at least 60 minutes pre/post meal). You can rest assured your pet is in safe, clinical hands. For any animals on medications that have been prescribed by a veterinarian, please let me know and I can administer these. For any specific rules/requirements, please also let me know.
Ratings and reviews
We really appreciated Shannon meeting with us the day before the sit to get to know each other and Charlie. She was very calm with Charlie as he is still getting used to new people looking after him. Our house was cleaner and tidier than when we left it too!

Can’t thank Shannon enough for looking after Ruby (and our home) so well while we were away. Lots of updates and reassurances that Ruby was happy and lots of photos. House was spotless on our return. Nothing is too much of a bother. We can enjoy our holiday knowing Ruby is in safe hands with someone who loves her like her own. Thanks again Shannon.

Shannon was great, she dropped in on my Maggie while I was away exactly when she said she would she provided updates and photos, she monitored the weather when considering a walk as Maggie doesn’t deal with heat very well, she played with Maggie and cuddled with her, by the end of the holiday Maggie absolutely adored her so I highly recommend Shannon. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Shannon is amazing . She keeos in touch with us during her visits and shares photos and videos . Our dog loves her and we will be rebooking because she is the best . So caring . Thank you Shannon .

Thank you again to Shannon for looking after Ruby for us and also for going over and above anything expected! We had a leak and Shannon very kindly located it, turned off the water, and waited in next day for the plumber! Lots of updates from her on Ruby with photos, so our dog and home in very safe hands. Thanks again.

Lovely Shannon took great care of Ruby again for me. Lots of updates and photos which is really reassuring. Thank you again xx
