Shannon was so easy going and positive from booking through pick-up. We could tell she would be flexible with our three dogs’ different needs and personalities for a 9-day stay in her home. We have no doubt we’ve found our new sitter!
Shannon and Daniel are great people. Friendly, accommodating and took great care of Sadie. She was very happy when I picked her up and she slept most of the 2.5 hr drive home. They went above and beyond helping me locate a central location to meet my sister and her family to ride together to the Cardinals’ game. I will definitely use them again next time I’m in St Louis.

Shannon checked all the boxes for us. She lived in a safe, walkable neighborhood, didn’t have any other pets at the house, and an allowed Tucker to lay on the back of her sofa. This all made for a very happy boy. I’m sure he felt like a king while we enjoyed our great nieces first birthday party. We didn’t worry about him at all, knowing he was being well cared for. Thank you, Shannon.

Shannon and Daniel provided wonderful care for Dobby! It was just one night, but they helped him settle right in and sent a sweet picture of him ‘relaxing’ on a cushion. He was a happy pup when we picked him up!

Schedule
Taking care of pets works well for me because have a very flexible work schedule. I work as a substitute teacher and pick my own days to be in the classroom. I also teach Irish dance and music lessons during weekday afternoons at a studio 5min away from my house. So it’s very easy for me to arrange pet care duties around other commitments. My partner also works from his home office and has a flexible work schedule, so there is often at least one adult at home most hours of the day during the week. Having two people available helps keep the pets that stay in our home on a schedule close to their normal routines.

Safety, trust & environment
Our house is a corner lot with a 6ft wooden enclosed fence yard. We only let dogs out in the yard off-leash if we are in the yard as well. Otherwise we keep dogs on leashes outside the house. We allow pets full access to the main floor, upstairs rooms and on the furniture as appropriate. We stick to each pet’s feeding and walking schedule as closely as possible. We often offer neighborhood walks throughout each day. We also do trails and paths throughout local parks including Forest Park, Wilmore Park and Tower Grove Park as appropriate.
A typical day
We love to go on the woodland trail walks throughout Forest Park, along the cedar trees in Wilmore Park and around the native plant paths of Tower Grove Park. We also enjoy a good fetch session through the ‘hallway run’ of our main floor indoors.
