Pet care experience

Boise’s Home for Happy Dogs

Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember — at one point, my family had four large breeds at home! I’ve cared for dogs of all sizes and personalities, and I understand how to make them feel comfortable, safe, and loved while their owners are away. When your dog stays with me, they’ll enjoy plenty of exercise and attention — whether that’s a trip to the nearby Winstead dog park, walks on local trails, or cozy downtime at home. I’m experienced with both playful puppies and mellow senior dogs, and I’m happy to reinforce basic training or provide gentle, attentive care for older pups. My goal is to make your dog’s stay feel like a home-away-from-home — filled with warmth, routine, and plenty of tail wags. You can travel knowing your pup is cared for like family.

Shannon was great! My black lab relaxed into her home. They went for walks in the dog park across the street. I would recommend her.

Shannon was fantastic with our pug Steve! Her communication was excellent and incredibly quick, she kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the stay. She gave us peace of mind that Steve was in caring hands. Would recommend Shannon to any other dog parents.

Schedule

I work part-time (about 20 hours a week), which gives me plenty of time to focus on the pets in my care. Our days usually start with a morning walk, and in the early evening, I love to head out for an adventure — whether that’s a stroll through the neighborhood or a trip to a nearby trail or park. Depending on your dog’s needs and energy level, they’re welcome to join in on those outings! During the day, dogs enjoy time both outside in the yard and relaxing inside the house. I also have a crate available for nighttime if needed, as well as a comfy dog bed on the back porch. I’m flexible and happy to adjust routines so your dog feels right at home and cared for in the way that suits them best.

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. I have a fully fenced backyard for secure outdoor play and a cozy home where dogs can relax inside. A crate is available for nighttime or quiet time, and I’m happy to adjust routines for puppies, senior dogs, or dogs with special needs. I share my home with a friendly doodle mix who loves company and daily adventures, including trips to nearby dog parks, trails, and watering spots when weather allows. With years of experience as a dog parent, I’ll make sure your pup feels safe, loved, and part of the family.

A typical day

Dogs enjoy playtime in my fenced backyard and at least one daily adventure — a trip to the dog park, local trails, or a favorite watering spot. Every day is tailored to your pup’s energy and personality, balancing fun, exercise, and relaxation.

Please let me know if your dog has any concerns with other dogs — some establishing of boundaries is normal, but it’s important to share anything beyond that. The same goes for potty habits or any special routines. The more I know ahead of time, the better I can make their stay safe, comfortable, and stress-free.
