I treat every pet and home with the care and respect I’d want for my own. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet (and your space) in someone else’s hands, and I don’t take that lightly. For pets, I stick as closely as possible to their normal routine. I pay attention to their behavior and needs, and their safety and well-being is always my top priority. In your home I am very mindful that I am a guest. I keep things clean, make sure everything stays secure, and treat your space with respect. I aim to leave everything just as you left it. I am happy to keep you updated with messages and photos, so you can relax knowing your pet is well cared for.

I would love to know how you'd describe your pet's personality, how your pet generally responds when meeting someone new, and whether your pet has any special instructions related to their behavior or health. It's very helpful to learn about your pet's daily routine, including how much exercise they usually get. Prior to house sitting, it's important know about your house rules (crate training, furniture, etc.) so that I am prepared to maintain those expectations while you are away. It is also helpful to know where in the house your pet spends their time, what their favorite toys are, and if they have any specific comfort items.
A typical day
This is highly dependent on your pet! If they enjoy it, we will play games like fetch or tug-of-war and go on walks. I also enjoy reinforcing basic training, if that is wanted. For more relaxed pets, I’m happy to provide lots of cuddles and companionship.

Hi, I’m Shanna! I provide care at your home so your pets can stay comfortable in their normal routine while you’re away. As a remote worker, I’m able to stay at your home during work hours - great for pets who are used to company throughout the day! My goal is to make your time away as stress-free as possible. I am happy to follow detailed instructions, and I provide regular updates and photos so you always know how things are going. Specialties: I have a soft spot for shy or nervous pets, and I take extra care to follow their lead and let them warm up at their own pace. My experience caring for my own anxious and reactive dog has given me extra understanding for pets who need a predictable environment and time to build trust. I am also experienced with puppies and young dogs, and I understand the importance of consistency, routine reinforcement, and providing outlets for their energy while they’re still learning. Meet & Greet: I always like to schedule a meet-and-greet with new clients to make sure everyone feels comfortable and that we are a good match. For safety, my husband Nathan may join me for this first visit, but all pet care and in-home services are always provided by me.

Wow just wow! Shanna not only did an amazing job, watering plants, yard, folding laundry and our rescue dog loved her! He felt right at home and she communicated with pictures 2x a day! Better hire her before her schedule is fully booked.

Shanna loves pets! She has cared for Freya, our Rat Terrier, in her home over weekends and for an eight day stretch. Her home is a very welcoming place for all who visit (people and pets). She sent us pictures of our dog while at her house and told us about the fun they were having. When we picked up Freya, she was happy and in good health. She was obviously well cared for.
