I currently work a hybrid-remote job that is dominantly remote, with occasional in office days. Myself and my partner are a lovely tag team of caregivers when it comes to our cat and leopard geckos!

Safety, trust & environment
When caring for pets in a client’s home, I make sure to follow their routine as closely as possible so your pets feel comfortable and secure. This includes feeding on schedule, refreshing water, walks or playtime, administering medication if needed, and of course lots of love and attention. I keep a close eye on their well-being, send updates and photos, and always leave your home just as I found it. To be able to stay in your home is a privilege in itself, so I thank you for the hospitality! When pets stay with me, I provide a safe and cozy environment, enrichment through play, and plenty of supervised attention. I believe in treating every animal as if they were my own — making sure they’re happy, healthy, and cared for in the way that suits them best.

Information Shane M. would like to know about your pet
Size and behavior are very important factors in making sure I can provide the best care possible. In the past, I’ve run into situations where pets’ size or behavioral needs weren’t fully communicated, which can make it difficult to give them the right care and attention they deserve. I truly believe that open and honest communication is the key to a successful experience for both pets and pet parents — the more I know about your pet, the better I can keep them safe, comfortable, and happy.
A typical day
I love spending quality time with your pet, whether that means playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company. Every animal has their own personality, boundaries, and comfort level — and sometimes that means they may not feel like going out for a walk. If that ever happens, I’m more than happy to adjust and just spend time with them in a way that makes them feel safe, relaxed, and cared for. Ultimately, I know not every pet will be a fan of me—that's just how animals are, especially when their usual people are gone. I will always give 100% to make sure I provide the space they need to warm up to me and feel safe.

Pet care experience
Hi there! My name is Shane, and I’m based in Taunton, MA, providing pet care all across Massachusetts and RI. I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember, and over the years I’ve cared for dogs, cats, reptiles, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, and even chinchillas. My background includes working as a playgroup supervisor at a doggy daycare outside Boston, as well as my former position at Providence Animal Rescue League as a communications coordinator and pet photographer (which means I’d be happy to capture some great photos of your pets, too!). In addition to my hands-on experience, I’m comfortable and experienced with administering medications — including to cats and dogs with special medical needs. I understand the importance of patience and precision when it comes to keeping pets healthy and happy. At home, I share life with my partner Anna (also an animal lover and caregiver), our diabetic cat Nestor, and our two leopard geckos, Meechee and Verne. I also help care for my family’s dog, Finn, whenever I can. Currently, I work mostly remotely, with occasional in office days. Whether it’s dog walking, drop-in visits, or pet sitting/boarding, I bring a mix of professional experience, personal passion, and a whole lot of care to every pet I meet. I’d love the chance to get to know you and your pets!

Three words...Kind...caring...best!

My shy cat made a new friend in Shane! Great experience, my cat was well taken care of and it was a seamless transition coming home!

Thanks again Shane!! Lucy loves having you take her out. Appreciate your help once again!

Shane was great! He helped us out last-minute with taking out our golden retriever while we were at work. He was great with communicating, and sent us some pictures of our happy girl while he was outside with her! Thanks so much Shane, will definitely be using you again.
