Master Trainer Walks & Visits

Highland Canine-certified Master Dog Trainer providing walks and drop-in visits with the same judgment, attention, and follow-through I bring to training. My background includes Highland Canine’s six-month Master Dog Trainer program and 960+ hands-on hours across obedience, behavior analysis, public access, service dog work, search and rescue, and more. That experience carries directly into pet care. I know how to read body language early, notice stress before it escalates, and adjust to the dog in front of me instead of handling every visit the same way. I’m comfortable with puppies, adolescents, adult dogs, seniors, anxious dogs, reactive dogs, and dogs that have made every walk feel harder than it should. I pay attention to routine, pace, safety, weather, hydration, energy level, and the small details that tell you how your dog is actually doing that day. Your dog is not just another stop on my schedule. They are someone’s whole world, and I treat them like it. You can expect real care, real photos, and a genuine update after every visit, because you should know more than the fact that I showed up. My goal is to get the visit right, not just get it done.

Pets

Safety, trust & environment

I care for pets in their own home and follow their routine as closely as possible, because that is usually what helps them feel most settled. I pay attention to the details that matter: doors, gates, leashes, feeding instructions, medications, weather, water, and how your dog handles people, other dogs, and changes in the environment. I’m comfortable with dogs that need more thoughtful handling, and I take both your dog’s safety and your peace of mind seriously. After each visit, you’ll get a real update so you know how things went and can feel confident your dog was in good hands.

We have a large dog, and that changes everything when you are trusting someone else to come into your home and put a leash on him. You cannot fake confidence with a big dog, and that was the first thing I noticed about Shane. He was calm, in control, and clearly knew how to handle him without making a big show out of it. Our dog respected him right away, which honestly told me more than anything else could have. Shane was reliable, communicated well, followed our routine, and gave us real peace of mind when we needed walks or drop-in visits. If you have a powerful dog and want someone who is not just willing to show up, but actually capable, I would recommend Shane without hesitation.

Shane has close to a thousand hours of formal training certification and it shows immediately. He watched our dog for maybe five minutes and told us things about her behavior that we'd been trying to figure out for two years. Thorough, direct, no nonsense. Our dog is better and we're better owners. That's all that matters.

Schedule

My walks and drop-ins run alongside my training work, so I keep my availability intentional and limited enough to give each dog consistent handling and real attention. I’m typically available on weekday mornings and afternoons, with limited Saturday availability, and I do my best to keep pets on a steady routine whenever possible. I’m careful not to overbook, which means the dogs I take on get the same thoughtful care and follow-through each time I show up.

The more honest information you give me up front, the better I can care for your pet safely and well. Please tell me about routine, medications, mobility issues, bite history, reactivity, escape habits, door dashing, leash behavior, handling sensitivities, crate setup, triggers, and anything that tends to stress your dog out or help them settle. You do not need to minimize anything or make your dog sound easier than they are. I would much rather know the truth, plan accordingly, and get the visit right from day one.
