Pet care experience
Fun in the woods!
I've owned dogs since I was 12 years old. I've had a heeler, a pitbull, a Husky mix and now 2 German Shepherds. I spend most of my day walking them around the woods and taking them to the lake. We do lots of hiking, working on our tricks and commands and enjoying this mountain life. I have experience with un-neutered and un-spayed females. I have experience administering medications (daily medication for one of my dogs with pannus) I've also had 3 of my dogs as puppies so I'm very experienced with puppies and younger pups, as well as provided senior care for my 15 year old Husky mix for the last 2 years of his life. All ages, all sizes, I love pups!

Our dog had a great time with Shane for 3 days during our Tahoe trip. Our dog got lots of exercise and play time in the snow. We appreciated Shane's quick responses and flexibility.
Shane is incredible! This was my first time leaving my new rescue pup who is very shy, he won’t let many people even get close to him and Shane sent me a video of them cuddling on the couch. ❤️ Shane was so kind and gentle with my pup. I’m so grateful how awesome it worked out. Plus, his two dogs are very chill and well behaved which was also great for my pup to play with them. Can't recommend Shane enough! There's more, his location is also amazing for the dogs because it’s far from any busy streets and right by a trailhead. 🙌
I highly recommend Shane as a seasoned and skilled dog sitter. You can, of course, assume that he is a good dog sitter and Dog Trainer because his two dogs are service animals, however, you’ll learn even more in person is his kindness and how much he loves our doggy companions. From the first interaction over messages and his profile to the moment I picked up my dog from her staycation, I felt safe and assured that was well cared for. At the end of the day, my dog greeted me happily and calmly and I knew I’d want to use his services time and time again! If this wasn’t convincing enough, just imagine me calling my dog to the car and her looking back at Shane sad to go because she just had the most epic adventure day. And of course, she fell asleep in the car right away.
I felt totally comfortable with Shane from the get-go. Jojo had a blast with her new dog buds!
Shane is one of the best pet sitters we have had ever! He's such an animal lover that even the pups greeted him like an old friend. He's attentive to their needs, he treated them like they were his own, and I never worried about our babies safety while they were in his care. I HIGHLY recommend Shane for any of your dog sitting needs - you won't find better love and care!

Schedule
I work part time doing property maintenance so I have a lot of flexibility and am able to make my own schedule. I spend most morning with the dogs, spend 4-6 hours at work when I have jobs and then come back home to my pups. My wife works as a bartender, so she’s usually home all day and I’m here at night so the pups always have company.

Safety, trust & environment
Our apartment is right down the street from Kiva Beach (the best dog friendly beach in Lake Tahoe), Fallen Leaf Lake and countless trails throughout Desolation that I spend countless hours in with my pups and they always love company! Inside, dogs are allowed in all rooms and on all furniture. We consider our dogs our babies and treat them as such and hope you'll let us do the same for your fur baby!

A typical day
I have unlimited amounts of fun for your pup, from the dog park and beaches in town to dog friendly trails where we'll get amazing adventure shots! I also like to give my dogs treats with sniff puzzles or when working on tricks and commands. Whether your dog likes to play inside, roam around outside or go on a new adventure with us, your pup is GUARANTEED an amazing stay!
