The pets who stay with us are welcomed as part of the family. For boarding, we can accommodate one dog per night. We do not board cats.

We have a fenced in backyard with about an acre of land. We have a 3 year old dog who is friendly. We have a shy 10 year old cat who will hide from other animals that she doesn’t know. We have hens, but they are fenced in completely.

Typically during our meet and greet, I will ask about the routine, diet, sleep, exercise, and if there are any special needs such as medications. I have given both oral and topical meds to pets who have stayed with us. It isn’t a problem.
A typical day
We typically keep schedule consistent with what your pet is used to (sleep, meals, exercise, and so on). The pets who board with us are part of the family so they hang out with us in the garden or watching TV or hiking in Loch Raven. If they like to play fetch or keep away with toys, we have the perfect yard for that!

I am an enthusiastic and active animal lover with over 20 years experience. We live across from the Loch Raven reservoir within walking distance of many hiking trails. We enjoy playing with our pets in our fenced in backyard as well as taking nature hikes on the many trails across from us. Growing up, we had a dog and two cats. Currently, I delight in taking care of our 10 year old cat and 3 year old dog! I love being active with animals and walking them. Our house and yard are very pet friendly! I also am comfortable with admin of needed meds and grooming.

Shana is an awesome dog sitter! My dog loved staying at her house! They went on walks/hikes every day! She also has a nice dog named Bella who my dog played with and they became best buddies. I will be using her from now on!
Shana was an outstanding host for our dog. He stayed there for 8 days while my in laws (who are boarding him) were on vacation. She was so easy to communicate with, she got Welly outside often and he had a wonderful playmate in her dog, Bella. She sent pictures and updates every day and was just a joy to work with. Can’t wait for Welly to stay with her again soon!
I highly recommend Shana to care for your fur babies. She was attentive, responsive, caring and went above & beyond. Thank you sooo much! It was nice to not worry and know Peri and Jack were in good hands while I was away.
Shana and her family did a great job with our slightly anxious dog. They were patient and took great care of him. He got along great with their dog Bella, who is his new best friend.
