Pet care experience

Dog mom turns vet tech in Annapolis

For 13 years, I lived in New York City, where I pet sat for dogs of all ages—from playful puppies to gentle senior companions. Caring for animals has always been something I genuinely enjoy. When I met my husband, we welcomed our own puppy, Suki, an Australian Labradoodle, into our family and completely fell in love with her. After getting married, we traded the hustle and bustle of NYC for the quiet waterfront community of Annapolis, Maryland, where I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a veterinary technician (animal nurse). Beginning this fall, I'll be attending CCBC's Veterinary Technology program, where I'll be learning the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to care for animal patients and assist veterinarians. While I'm in school, I'm excited to continue caring for dogs in my community by providing a safe, loving home away from home. Suki also loves making new four-legged friends and enjoys the extra companionship!

Sarah Shan Yun Lee is an absolute lifesaver! Leaving my dog, Nymeria, is never easy, but Sarah always makes the entire experience completely stress-free. In her care, Nymeria is always happy, relaxed, and clearly spoiled with love the entire time! I couldn't ask for a more reliable, caring, and professional sitter.

Sarah is a dedicated and passionate pet owner and would make a great addition to Rover. She is compassionate and treats all dogs with love and care, encouragement, and attentive safe behavior. I’d have no hesitation trusting my pet to Sarah.

Schedule

Beginning August 31, 2026, I will be attending veterinary technology school part-time on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. My husband works from home full-time, so there will always be someone at home to care for and supervise your dog. We have no children—just one friendly Australian Labradoodle. We're happy to accommodate pick-ups, drop-offs, and drop-in visits upon request. We have a compact SUV equipped with a pet-safe, seatbelt-secured car seat for dogs weighing up to 55 lbs. For dogs over 55 lbs, have a plush backseat extender that can hold dogs up to 100 lbs.

Safety, trust & environment

We live on the first floor of a luxury apartment community with a fenced dog park and a private street-level entrance, so there are no stairs or elevators for your dog to navigate. Our baby-gated, double-doored patio includes a grass potty area for quick bathroom breaks or house training when needed, and our neighborhood offers plenty of safe, grassy areas for regular walks. Our apartment is fully pet-proofed with covered and elevated trash, recycling & laundry, cordoned-off shoe areas, secured wires & cabinets. We walk our own dog three times a day—in the morning, afternoon, and evening—and can tailor exercise to your dog's individual needs. For walking multiple dogs at once, I like to use a heavy duty waist belt for safety. For puppies, we have an indoor playpen, pee pads, and plenty of hands-on experience with puppy care and house training. We also follow each dog's normal feeding routine and avoid introducing new foods, as our own dog, Suki, has a sensitive stomach and we understand the importance of maintaining a consistent diet. We enjoy positive reinforcement training and have taught Suki to sit, heel, and perform a variety of tricks. We primarily provide boarding and daycare in the comfort and safety of our own home, where your dog will receive personalized, attentive care. I also have the tools and experience to provide basic grooming as needed, and we take pride in maintaining an exceptionally clean home with regular paw and eye wipes, daily vacuuming, and a fully equipped pet spa for comfortable baths. The Bath & Basic Grooming add-on includes a shampoo bath, towel dry, blow dry (if tolerated), spray-on conditioner, and a light brush-out. Extensive de-shedding, de-matting, haircuts, nail trims, and ear cleanings are not included. As part of your dog’s daily routine, we’re also happy to brush their teeth at no additional charge (just provide their toothbrush and toothpaste). We brush Suki’s teeth every evening and know how important good dental hygiene is for your dog’s long-term health.

A typical day

On a typical day, we start the morning with a walk before breakfast. Around lunchtime, we head out for another walk, followed by plenty of time to relax, nap, and snuggle. In the evening, we visit the fenced dog park in our apartment community, where your dog can enjoy supervised play and socialization (if they're comfortable around other dogs) before dinner. After dinner, there's always time for more play, enrichment, and zoomies at home! Then, we get ready for bed with a tooth brushing session, and relax as we drift off. We have plenty of tennis balls, plush toys, and enrichment activities to keep high-energy dogs happy, while also making sure every pup gets the rest, attention, and affection they need throughout the day. We understand that every dog has a different personality and energy level, so we're happy to tailor their daily routine to help them feel comfortable, safe, and right at home.

Please let us know if your dog is uncomfortable around other animals or needs to be kept separate for any reason. Because we live in a pet-friendly apartment community with other dogs nearby, we are currently unable to accommodate dogs that are aggressive, highly reactive, or require complete isolation. We also ask that you let us know if your dog experiences severe separation anxiety or barks excessively, as we want to be considerate of our neighbors. We are happy to care for friendly dogs of all sizes, breeds, and ages, including seniors. While I am not yet certified, I am currently studying veterinary technology and am learning to administer medications and provide basic first aid. Please let us know if your dog takes any medications, has special medical needs, or requires any accommodations so we can provide the best possible care. We would also like to know your dog’s feeding schedule, walking schedule, and sleeping habits (Suki sleeps in bed with us). Kindly also let me know if your dog has a sensitive tummy and/or has any allergies.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
