I live in a townhome that features a large, lush, and open neighborhood to walk your dogs in. My home has two floors; the first floor is where your pet will stay. When your pet is in my home, they are treated like members of my family. They will be fed, walked, and enriched on your schedule, and will be allowed to sit on the couch and even sleep in my bed at nights if comfortable. I take great care to ensure that your pet’s stay is comfortable and fun-filled. In my home, I currently have two budgies in a large cage and two betta fish, each in 5-10 gallon tanks. The parrots are allowed to free fly for most of the day, but they will be put away or kept caged when your pets are being boarded. When I am in your home, I cultivate the utmost respect. I try not to disturb or move anything that’s not necessary. I’ll make use of only what’s given to me with regards to caring for your pet, and leave everything else exactly how I found it.

If requesting for a same day walk or drop in service, please give me at least two hours of advance notice so that I can make travel arrangements! For boarding requests, please let me know if your pet is comfortable with staying near caged parakeets.
A typical day
I will take your pets out for walks to explore their surroundings! Depending on energy level, we can jog, run, and play, or just keep it low key and full of exploring. I will play with them and, as I work from home most of the day, will keep them entertained and occupied with their toys. I also like to go over their training or any tricks they might know. We’ll do most everything together!

I love animals and have experience working with and sitting for a wide range of them, including dogs, cats, and small or exotic animals. I myself have owned over twenty parrots (currently have two in the aviary!) and have extensive experience with fishkeeping — I have four cycled, walstad fish and shrimp tanks! I can walk your dog, clean your cat’s litter box, and even do water changes for your fish if needed! Anything to make sure your little guys are well cared for!

Shama took care of our family's dog for one week, and my cat the following week. I had to travel out of the country on short notice due to a death in the family, and Shama, who was so kind to offer to watch both of them while I was gone, was nothing but caring, compassionate, and deeply devoted to their care and wellbeing. Her attention to detail, flexibility, and genuine love for animals shines in the way that she cared for my dog and cat. My dog went from hesitantly walking a lap with her in the park to waiting every day by the front door for her to come by and pick him up for walks that would leave him happy and content when he came home. My cat, known for being skittish around strangers and hostile to vets, quickly warmed up to her as well. Her patience and compassion for the animals around her is evident in the way that even the most reserved of pets enjoy her presence. I would leave my animals in her care without even a second thought.
