I grew up with animals, and I’ve a long career as a special educator and elementary school teacher. Nurturing children’s minds and spirits is what I love to do. My sister owns a dog rescue, and caring for animals has always been a part of my families life. I’m a professional care giver, and my family would love the opportunity to give your pet a second home.

Waffles loves her stays with Shalon - as a repeat client, she starts wagging her tail as soon as we pull up to her house! Shalon is communicative and loves and cares for my pup as though she were her own.

Shalon is the absolute best. She was available for a last-minute booking and treated our pup like a prince. We are considering scheduling another vacation just so Jack can visit Shalon again! Wholeheartedly recommend leaving your dog in these great hands.
Shalon was amazing! We have a young, high-energy puppy, and she did an incredible job handling him. She kept us updated with lots of photos of him playing, socializing with other dogs, and clearly having the best time. He came home happy, tired, and even better behaved. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing he was in such great hands. We couldn't recommend Shalon more!
Shalon was fantastic with Kodi and Lucy. She sent photo and video updates the whole stay, which we loved. She checked in on the crate schedule, made sure she understood both leash setups, and handled the dogs calmly and safely. Both dogs seemed completely at ease with her. They played, snuggled, and got plenty of exercise, including evening walks. She has a great way with dogs and treated ours like her own. We'd book with Shalon again and recommend her to anyone in the Santa Barbara area.

Schedule
I’m available throughout the week, and have time each day for caring for your pet. I teach during the day, and we are here on the weekends, and I have holiday vacations and summers to care for your pet full time. I also live 2.5 miles from the SB airport, so you are welcome to park your car here and take an Uber to save on airport parking, or I could also drive you over and pick you up, just let me know.

I have a fenced back yard and plenty of space in a quiet neighborhood right across from Evergreen Open Space and less than a mile from Haskells beach. I am able to create a comfortable, safe and nurturing environment for your pet.
A typical day
My children and I will take your dog on walks, pet them and love on them, give them any provided treats, play ball and give them lots of attention. We will also create a nurturing and safe environment for your cat.
