I have been watching dogs on Rover for years and it is a joy. I especially appreciate forming relationships with the ones that keep coming back. As a former preschool teacher, I have found with dogs as with children, relationship is what matters most. Its what helps us meet each dogs particular needs and helps the pups feel comfortable in a new place. We provide lots of cuddles, exercise, and opportunity to be outside in our very large naturalistic fenced yard - lots to smell. We have a dog door. The fence is four feet tall. I also sometimes bring dogs to our home at St. Mary's Glacier. We accept dogs with crates but we don't shut the crate door. Happy to discuss the other ways we manage. The basement suite in Lakewood is listed on airbnb so there will be other people going through the back yard, including sometimes children. They appreciate being greeted in a friendly manor. We have one dog, Bou. She both enjoys the company and sets clear boundaries with other dogs. We always feed dogs separately. We look forward to meeting and making friends with your pup :)

Shakti, Andrew & Bou were great hosts for Finley! Shakti was communicative and provided great updates. They took him in wagon rides and shared photos! I would love to have him stay again.

Schedule
Bou tends to eat about 8AM and 5PM. I exercise with the dogs once a day. Otherwise they are free to roam in the yard. Often I join them doing yard work. We have a dog door so they can roam freely.

I only take dogs from one family at a time to help them feel comfortable. We have a number of beds and couches the indoor dogs can lounge on.

A typical day
Everyday I walk the dogs. On most days I will also run any dogs who are up for it I most often run in Belmar Park but sometimes drive to Bear Creek or other natural areas. The rest of the day I work on the computer, do household chores or do yard work. I do sometimes go out for a few hours.
