A typical day
I tend to follow instructions from the owner carefully. For active pets, I enjoy taking them for walks. It is fun to walk a dog who knows his/her community well and likes to point the way. For cats, I let the cat show me how much attention it wants or does not want. For playful cats, I enjoy playing with them with their toys or just a simple string.

Note: I live in downtown Baltimore but work in Arlington, VA so housesits in DC/Virginia are ideal. Hi! I’m Serena, a dependable and experienced pet sitter with over 10 years of experience caring for pets and homes. I grew up in a home full of cats and 1 dog and was a proud cat owner for many years. Since then, caring for other people’s pets has become something I truly enjoy. Friends, neighbors, and travelers regularly trust me to care for their pets while they’re away. I understand that pets are family, and I always work to make sure they feel comfortable, safe, and relaxed in their own environment. My clients often tell me they appreciate my communication while they’re away. I make sure to send regular updates, photos, and videos so you can see how your pets are doing and feel confident they’re in good hands. Outside of pet sitting, I’m an avid gardener with over 30 indoor plants and a vegetable garden. Because of this, I’m also very comfortable caring for plants and maintaining a home while you’re traveling.

Serena has been a terrific dog walker for my dog Cookie. She is always on time and is so good with Cookie. I can always rely on her to send me pics of Cookie during the walk. Very comforting.
Serena stayed in my home and cared for my dog in 2025, and she was wonderful! My dog was happy and very well cared for, and she had no issues at all with giving him his medications (he's on multiple meds for arthritis, including one pill that is difficult to administer). Serena was very communicative and responsive the whole time, and just a lovely person, as well. I would be happy for Serena to care for my pup again anytime, and I highly recommend her as an excellent pet sitter!
