Pet sitting is a pretty large part of my weekly routine because it helps me fill in the blanks as I save up for my current goals. I am generally flexible with scheduling and overall I just really like to help out.

I really appreciate when pet owners already have a set of tasks they'd like done or taken care of as I pet and house sit. It helps me do a good job, and know that I am not missing any important details. Especially if its a pet that needs extra care or if they just need someone to water that plant while they're gone. If a pet has a lot of separation anxiety, I'm pretty flexible with staying with the pet as often as I can to make sure they, and all home decor stays safe. I am also not afraid to take a pet to the vet in the case of an emergency and I think updating the owners when I come and go or other small things throughout the visit is really important. Every pet owner wants to know their pet is taken care of :)

If they have special needs or care, I ask that the details of their care are carefully written out so that I can review the notes as needed. I also prefer to meet the family before officially accepting the booking so we can become familiar with each other before I watch the pets and so if need be, I can see them doing the routine of care if it's complex. I also need to know if the pet has separation anxiety or what the owners preferred plan of action is in case of emergency (like the info of their vet or preferred clinic).
A typical day
I love playing with pets! I'll take them out on walks if they're very energetic and if they're friendly I will give them a couple of chases around the yard or play with them inside with their toys. If the dog is chill or their energy is expended I will sit with them (on the couch if that is permitted) and watch TV.

Pet care experience
My family owned a Rottie for 6 years, and I've pet sat for family and friends for years. Both my family's dog and a couple of other puppies I have cared for have separation anxiety and I am prepared to take care of dogs with a little extra care. I personally love it when owners already have a pre-set checklist of how they'd like me to care for their pet and their home because that helps me do a good job.

This was the second time I’ve booked Serena, and she was great with my blind/deaf dog, Shiola. She was responsive, gave consistent updates, and was very respectful of my home.
