A typical day
I have a huge park right next to my house, I usually prefer that one to walk the dogs and also play with them. I make sure that the exercises we make can match the energy level of the pet. I make sure that they can enjoy their day; feel happy and safe with me.

Pet care experience
I am a psychologist who is now doing her masters in Bergamo University. I have lived in Turkey almost all my life - mostly in Istanbul where the stray animals are the signature of the city. For us - Turkish people- it's a tradition- a culture to share our lives with animals, to protect them and their spaces. Many people and even the municipalities feed them on a daily basis and voluntarily take care of their health. The most struggling part of living in Europe for me is that I am away from cats and dogs... Normally in Istanbul, I used to pet them every single day (my photo gallery is full of their photos) and sometimes I would take care of the ones with ilnesses or injuries. I even adopted some sick cats, managed to keep some of them alive... I go camping a lot and once I rescued a baby cat who was left alone in a forest... I used to take care of my friends' dogs whenever they are away (one of my closest friends Özlem is a traveller - biker and she got her dog because she relied on me actually) and I also had a cat who had died when she was 14... Now here in Bergamo, I miss having animals all around me and taking care of them. So I don't see animal-sitting as a job, but as an opportunity for me to spend time with these incredible creatures. I am a psychologist, a musician and a journalist also but I think animal care is like a dream job for me :) I'd also like to recommend you some documentaries (the first one is about the cats of Istanbul ^^ ) Recommended movie-documentary: "Kedi" by Ceyda Torun Recommended Show-documentary: "Wild Rescue" on BBC Earth

Selmin cared for our dog like he was her own, staying calm when meeting him and making sure he felt at home in a new environment. Our dog needs special care for some health issues and she had no problem accommodating them. She gave regular updates and photos so we never felt too far away. She made sure our dog went in lots of walks and played at parks since our dog is hyper active Aussie. Would 100% rebook and so happy we have found a reliable trustworthy person and friend to care for our dog.
It was our first time away from our beloved Pippa and Selmin did an amazing sitting with her, leaving us completely comfortable and thankful for the caring, love and kindness she provided Pippa during these days. We will for sure look for Selmin next time and would also give her a ten star rating!
I am Selmin’s father and I am also an animal-lover. Every year we go to camping together and we always take care of the animals in the camping areas. One time I remember there was a dog which was really sick, hungry and excluded by others and everyone was avoiding him. Selmin and I gave him some food and pet him. He was so happy and didn’t hurt us unlike other people believed so. Selmin protected him from other dogs’ attacks and at least during our stay, the poor dog found some peace. This is only a small example but I can assure you that you can trust my daughter because she is really a compassionate person. She also had a cat named Salsa and she took a great care of her until Salsa passed away.
I don’t think anyone can love animals more than Selmin. I know she loves street animals and always pet them. I have two cats (Van kedisi) and she would take care of them often when I am out of town. I fully trust her with my pets and every animal in the streets. She is so loving and really careful with the animals. Sometimes she gets angry when some other people pet the street animals by force and tell them let the animal alone – she only pets them or touches them when she is sure they are approaching her and they want to be loved.
