I try to provide consent-based care and enjoy getting to know each individual dog: their quirks, negotiation strategies, love languages, mortal enemies, and very strongly held opinions about what we need to be sniffing next. I pay attention to their body language and preferences and like to build a friendship based on trust, safety and clear communication. I grew up with a golden retriever and volunteered at an animal shelter after she passed. I have experience with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, temperaments, ages and rescue backgrounds, including different needs around touch, exercise, food, other animals, disability and separation anxiety. I’m an artist and work mostly from home. Animals also turn up quite a lot in my work, so canine thinking is endlessly fascinating to me. Regular walks and runs are part of my enrichment too, so I always appreciate the company. I take the responsibility of caring for someone else’s dog very seriously, follow their established routines, and am happy to keep you regularly updated on what we’ve been up to.

Selin looks after my five-year-old male medium size poodle. She does so with care and love – with her, I know he’s in the very best of hands. He comes home happy, well-exercised, well-fed and content. We’ve even tried leaving him overnight, and everything went perfectly. She treats the animal with great respect and practises a gentle, cooperative approach. If Ingo could assess his dog-sitter himself, it would be a mixture of wagging his tail, jumping up and barking enthusiastically (the latter is, of course, forbidden, but it still happens at certain moments). Selin is a highly reliable and responsible dog sitter and has cared for my dog (Dolly) various times overnight since 2024. Dolly simply adores her and often doesn't want to leave when I pick her up! Selin is very communicative and proactive with updates and pictures. She is attentive to Dolly's needs which can be challenging at times, and soothes her when she is anxious. Selin is very attuned to Dolly's agency and respects her space and autonomy as a small dog. I would put my trust in Selin 100% and highly recommend her as a dogsitter.

Schedule
I work freelance, so my schedule is quite flexible. I can accommodate walks and drop-ins throughout the day, as well as daytime care and overnight stays. I can adapt walks, meals and rest time to their usual routine.

Safety, trust & environment
I build trust gradually while paying close attention to the dog’s signals. At home, I give dogs space to settle at their own pace and make sure they have a calm, comfortable place to retreat to. I can crate them if that’s what they’re accustomed to. I let the dog’s level of comfort with me determine how much cuddling is welcome. I love playtime and sniffaris, and adapt both activity and downtime to what each dog enjoys and needs. I’m happy to care for your pets either in their own home or mine. I live in a spacious 2-floor flat in Mitte with a flatmate who also loves dogs and is mostly away during the day. I also have access to a securely fenced Schrebergarten, where I can work on my laptop while dogs investigate all the new smells.
A typical day
Depending on what your dog enjoys, we can go on several long, sniffy walks throughout the day, explore different parks, play their favorite games at home or outside, and have some calm or cuddly downtime afterwards. I write and rehearse from home, so your dog is very welcome to distract me, or ignore me completely and have a nap. I’m used to caring for dogs who aren’t left alone, and can provide near-constant care.
