Full-Time Dog & Cat Lover

My family got our first dog within a month of me being born, a black lab named Shea. She was the sweetest, most loving companion a young boy could've asked for, and I think it was in no small part because of her that I've spent my life surrounded by animals. I got my own dog when I was 17 years old, a Siberian Husky who I named Apollo. I raised & trained him myself, and he became the best running & hiking partner I've ever had. When I moved to Florida, I made the incredibly difficult decision to leave him in the care of my parents, knowing if it were up to him, he wouldn't trade the wooded mountains of Vermont for the cities of south Florida. I now live with my cats Lucky and Kel’Thuzad, and my dog Lúthien. I began working with dogs professionally while I was in high school, walking and house sitting for neighbors, family friends, and relatives, until I moved to Florida and began working at a boarding facility. Inspired by two of my former colleagues from that job, I began studying canine behavior & psychology independently through extensive reading, while also working with animals full time. I am very experienced working with puppies, and elderly & disabled animals, and have no problem administering medication, or fulfilling any other special needs your pet may have! I am available full-time, looking for both infrequent one-off, and long-term set schedule clients. I am very responsive and easy to contact at all hours of the day, whether I am out or at home. I live in Victoria Park (Fort Lauderdale), a ten minute walk from both the dog-friendly Holiday Park, and Fort Lauderdale Beach. The neighborhood I live in is quiet, safe, and very pedestrian friendly. Great for leisurely walks, or if your furry friend requires more stimulation, a brisk run. Having raised a husky, and run cross country half my life I've yet to meet a dog I can't keep up with. I live by myself, but I have many relatives in the area (two who live right next door to me in the same apartment complex), and all dog owners as well. My husky Apollo lives in Vermont, but my staffordshire Lúthien, as well as all my regulars are always thrilled to have more playmates, so please reach out! We’d love to get to know you & your fur kids.

Sean did a great job of caring for our dogs while we were away. The dogs seemed well cared for & the treat jar was sufficiently 1/2 empty indicating all had a good time!

Sean was great to work with. He was willing to come by for two visits before my trip to get to know my dogs. During his stay he kept me up to date daily without having to be prompted. I especially appreciated the comprehensive updates, detailing how the dogs were doing as well as how they were bonding with him.

Sean is an excellent dog and house sitter we can trust. He kept us updated while we were away for the week with pics of our pups and daily check-ins. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation away knowing the doggies were in good caring hands. Thank You So Much Sean!😁

Schedule

Pet care is my full time job. If I’m house sitting or boarding, the only thing I’m stepping out for is another animal, be it mine or someone else’s. I don’t have a side or part time job, I work holidays, and outside of my travels to see shows or add to my tattoo collection I’m mostly a homebody who loves to spend time at the park.

Where your pet will stay

Home characteristics

Lives in an apartment
Has an unfenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 2 dogs, 2 cats
No children present
Dogs allowed on bed
Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 2-4 hours

Safety, trust & environment

Dogs are creatures of habit. They find comfort in structure, and so I make it my goal to keep whatever structure they are used to as intact as possible, while providing even more time and attention than their family might be capable of due to their work obligations. When boarding animals, I do my utmost to maintain my apartment as not just a space that I like to live in, but that is safe and comfortable for any dogs I may be hosting.

Pets

A typical day

I frequent dog parks in my area, and walk several dogs throughout the day. Temperament permitting of course, I try to provide even more time outside and socializing than my dogs may be used to at home or with their family.

0 to 15 lbs
16 to 40 lbs
41 to 100 lbs
over 101 lbs
Spayed and neutered dogs only
No females in heat
Crate-trained dogs only
Sean can host up to 3 pets per night
Temperament is the main point of conversation I discuss with my clients. I will gladly work with reactive, fearful, or aggressive dogs, but I like to identify as many if not all possible triggers beforehand to make sure there is never any risk of a situation compromising their comfort or safety.
