Pet care fits easily into my daily and weekly routine. I work from home much of the time and have a flexible, self-directed schedule, which allows me to plan my day around a dog’s needs or any special routines you’d like followed. Whether it’s walks, feeding times, play breaks, or just being present and attentive, I’m able to give consistent care and companionship throughout the day. I’m also able to adapt for early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed, so your pet gets steady attention rather than long stretches alone.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live on the second and third floors of a well-maintained condo on a quiet, residential street at the top of Jones Hill in Dorchester. The area is calm and ideal for walks, with plenty of space nearby for fresh air, sniff breaks, and movement without the chaos of heavy traffic. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family. I keep a clean, pet-safe space free of hazards and am mindful of food, plants, and small objects. I follow your specific care instructions closely — from feeding and walking routines to medications and favorite calming techniques — and I pay close attention to behavior and body language so I can respond quickly if anything seems off. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m respectful, detail-oriented, and consistent. I make sure your pet feels comfortable in their own environment while keeping your space secure and tidy. My goal is always the same: to create a calm, safe, and familiar experience where your pet feels relaxed, cared for, and truly at home.

Information Scottie G. would like to know about your pet
Before caring for a pet, I like to know as much as possible to make the experience smooth and stress-free for everyone. Helpful details include your pet’s daily routine, feeding schedule, walk preferences, and any quirks, fears, or triggers I should be aware of. It’s also important for me to know if your pet has any medical conditions, allergies, mobility limitations, or requires medications or special care. If your dog has specific rules around furniture, other dogs, or people, that’s important too. The more I understand your pet’s personality, boundaries, and comforts ahead of time, the better I can help them feel safe, relaxed, and right at home.
A typical day
A typical day really depends on the personality and energy level of the dog I’m caring for. Some pups are happiest with a relaxed, steady routine, while others thrive on adventure and extra stimulation — and I enjoy both sides of that. For more laid-back dogs or seniors, the day might include calm walks through the neighborhood, plenty of cuddle time, gentle play, and a cozy spot for naps. For high-energy or curious dogs, I’m always up for longer walks, hikes, or a beach trip (with your permission, of course) so they can explore, move their bodies, and burn off some energy in a positive way. No matter the pace, every day includes regular potty breaks, fresh water, meals on your schedule, playtime, affection, and lots of attention. I tune in to each dog’s needs and preferences so their day feels balanced, fun, and as close to home as possible.

Pet care experience
I’ve been a devoted pet parent and animal lover for as long as I can remember. For 12 incredible years, I shared my life with my dog, Riley, who taught me so much about loyalty, patience, play, and unconditional love. Caring for her through every stage of life, from energetic youth to gentle senior, gave me hands-on experience with daily routines, behavioral cues, medication needs, mobility changes, and the importance of a calm, reassuring presence. What sets me apart is the kind of care I provide. I’m attentive, grounded, and truly tuned in to an animal’s emotional and physical needs. I’m comfortable caring for senior dogs, following special instructions, administering medications, and keeping a consistent routine. I also love the joyful chaos that comes with puppy energy and miss having that playful spirit in my home. Whether your dog needs quiet companionship, structured care, or a fun, active environment, I’ll treat them the way anyone hopes their best friend would be treated: with love, respect, patience, and plenty of belly rubs.
Reviews

Scottie took amazing care of our doggos. We were able to be away with complete peace of mind that they were in the best of hands. We had nothing but the best of experiences working with Scottie and would whole-heartedly recommend him to anyone in the area. The regular updates with pics and videos were so appreciated :)(:

Scottie was great with Elly, keeping us updated throughout the stay. She came home nice and sleepy, showing she was kept active while she was staying with him. And Scottie takes great pictures!

We were so grateful to Scottie for taking such great care of our dog Bruno while we were on vacation. He sent daily updates with adorable pictures and notes on how Bruno was doing. We would definitely recommend Scottie and would use his services again!

Scottie was a fantastic sitter, very accommodating when arranging drop off and pickup! I received pictures throughout the day of Gizmo, and on pickup Gizmo acted far happier than he had when booked in a kennel - will certainly be back to Scottie in the future!
