Safety, trust & environment

I"m also a past home owner, now currently own a small apartment condo. I have plenty of experience and understanding the maintenance of a home and how to spot potential problems. I currently have the cleaning contract in our building and respect a clean environment, which would lend to a happy place for any pet and its owner.

Information Scott P. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if there any conditions that your pet may have examples like, had an operation or condition and isn't so active. Perhaps just a good day of lying in the grass by the creek is enjoyable for them. :-)

A typical day

I look forward to getting your pet out for some fresh air and a good walk. Does Rover like to interact with other dogs? Then I know there are a few good doggy parks in town that we can go make friends at. If not so much then perhaps a quiet walk on any of the local area trails? Perhaps some Frisbee or fetch with their favourite ball. Maybe a treasure hunt for a good stick?

Pet care experience

I provide reliable and attentive dog walking and care services, whether your dog needs a daily walk or support while you are away. As a lifelong dog owner, I have many years of hands-on experience caring for and understanding dogs of all personalities. Through my 35+ year career with Canada Post, I have encountered many dogs with a wide range of temperaments. This experience has helped me develop a strong ability to read canine behaviour and anticipate how dogs may respond in different situations, allowing me to handle walks safely and confidently. My goal is to provide a safe, enjoyable, and enriching experience for every dog in my care. Walks are conducted using positive reinforcement techniques and include plenty of time for sniffing, exploration, and exercise at a comfortable pace. You can trust that your dog will be treated with patience, care, and respect every time we head out for a walk.

Scott is great with our big dog! 5 STARS! He built a connection and trust very quickly with our German Shepherd-Coon Hound mixed breed. Scott is reliable, responsive, and has an obvious great love of dogs. Scott is highly recommended by us and our dog!

Five stars is not enough stars for the experience we had with Scott. He took care of our Boston Terrier Phil, and our home for nearly three weeks while we were away in Europe. He sent me photos of Phil every single day of them walking, playing, cuddling and fetching together. I knew exactly how much exercise my dog got every day as Scott has a GPS tracker that he places on the dog's collar allowing you to see the route and distance of their walk / hike. The one thing I noticed about Scott that made him seem different than other dog sitters is that you can tell he genuinely loves dogs and derives a lot of value and fullfillment from taking care of them. Phil was super happy to see us when we returned home, but he was not full of anxiety as you could tell he had had the care, attention and exercise he was used to while we were away. That means the world to us. On top of all that, Scott took impeccable care of our home during our absence, and even endured two nights without heat or hot water when our furnace crapped out during the cold snap. He had the HVAC guys here right away and took the time to communicate everything to us despite us being on a 9 hour time difference. I cannot reccommend Scott enough as a dog and home sitter. He is a retired Canada postman and loves to be outside. Thank you Scott from the bottom of my heart :)
