Pet care is fully integrated into my daily life, and dogs in my care are treated as true members of the family. My home offers a calm, dog-savvy environment with a large, double-fenced backyard on a quiet dead-end street, providing plenty of safe space for supervised outdoor play. We’re also close to the lake, allowing for peaceful walks and enriching outings when appropriate. While staying with us, dogs are welcome to relax wherever they’re most comfortable—whether that’s a bed, couch, rug, or lap. It’s rare for a dog in my care to be without human company for more than short periods, and they are never fully alone. Our household includes both two- and four-legged family members, creating steady companionship and a familiar, home-like rhythm. My children are teenagers who have grown up with dogs and are calm, respectful, and experienced around them. Our resident pets include a confident little Chihuahua, a gentle 100-pound golden/collie mix, and a cat who quietly keeps everyone in line. I thoughtfully incorporate guest dogs into my daily routines, establishing a consistent rhythm from day one. My goal is always to minimize the stress of being away from you and help your dog feel safe, settled, and truly at home.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. Having spent my entire life caring for dogs, I’m very attuned to reading their cues, anticipating their needs, and responding calmly and thoughtfully. As a longtime foster parent, I’m experienced in welcoming dogs who may be stressed or unfamiliar with their surroundings and helping them feel safe, secure, and settled as quickly as possible. Before any stay, I carefully review each pet’s profile and ask follow-up questions as needed to fully understand routines, preferences, and any medical, mobility, or behavioral considerations. I’m comfortable supporting dogs who need medications, special diets, or a slower pace, and I adjust care to meet each dog where they are. During a stay, I do my best to replicate your dog’s home routine, including feeding schedules, activity level, rest, and any special care instructions. I make sure all members of my household are aware of each dog’s needs to ensure consistency, close supervision, and a safe environment at all times. My goal is for every dog in my care—especially seniors or dogs needing extra support—to feel secure, well-cared for, and truly at home.

Information Savannah S. would like to know about your pet
Every detail you share helps me better understand who your dog is and how I can provide the best possible care. I encourage you to share anything you feel is important—personality traits, routines, quirks, triggers, medical needs, or past experiences—and I’ll follow up with any additional questions as we get to know each other. Through my rescue and foster work, I have extensive experience caring for puppies (under one year), seniors, and multi-dog households, and my rates reflect the additional care and attention these situations can require. I’m also happy to discuss extended stays (14+ days), as longer stays can be more demanding for some dogs and benefit from extra planning and support. I welcome dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes, including those with a variety of medical or behavioral needs. However, safety is always my top priority. At this time, I’m not able to accept dogs who are extremely dog-reactive or cat-aggressive, as I want to ensure a safe and positive environment for every pet in my care.
A typical day
I love getting to know each dog’s unique personality and what truly brings them joy. I’m very mindful that what one dog finds fun, another may find stressful, so I tailor activities to each dog’s comfort level, energy, and preferences. A typical day may include long walks, backyard play, mental enrichment games, supervised play with my resident dogs, or simply quiet companionship and cuddles on the couch. For dogs who enjoy water or outdoor adventures, swimming or extra exploration may also be part of their stay, while others are happiest with a slower, more relaxed routine. My goal is always for dogs to feel at home, well balanced, and relaxed—and to return to you happy, content, and without any new unwanted habits. I’m also happy to support specific training goals or routines when requested, using calm, positive reinforcement.

Pet care experience
I provide calm, experienced, family-style care in a structured home where dogs settle in quickly and feel truly comfortable. With over 30 years of hands-on experience caring for dogs, I’m known for creating a safe, dog-savvy environment where even shy, anxious, or senior dogs feel at ease and return home happy, relaxed, and well cared for. I’ve worked with dogs of all ages and needs—from young puppies and high-energy pups to seniors and dogs with medical or behavioral considerations. I’m comfortable supporting medications, special diets, and individualized routines, and I pay close attention to dog behavior and cues to ensure each dog feels safe, supported, and respected. Clear communication is a priority. I provide regular updates and photos, respond promptly, and make sure pet parents feel informed and reassured throughout their dog’s stay. Many families share that I’m the first sitter they’ve truly felt comfortable leaving their dogs with—and once they book, they return again and again. Every dog who stays with me is treated like a member of the family. As a dog mom myself, I know how important peace of mind is when you’re away.
Reviews

Hobbes had an amazing time with Savannah. He was very well taken care of! He enjoyed playing with her dogs and came back completely exhausted and content.

Savannah is wonderful! She watched our 10 month old puppy for 6 days. She provided daily updates and even cleaned our pup’s ear when it was bothering her. You can tell she really cares about the dogs she watches and that they feel comfortable with her. It was our first time using Rover so we were nervous but Savannah did a great job and we would definitely book her again. We could tell our girl had an awesome time and was well taken care of. Thank you!

Savannah took great care of my Chihuahua. I received updates on how he was doing and could tell he was having a great time with her dogs!

Amazing, Anubis was really happy with his stay here. Will bring him back next time
